Developer CD Projekt Red has today provided yet another <\/em>fine opportunity to sink hundreds of hours into a game you\u2019ve already played \u2013 and will absolutely play again because \u2018Geralt\u2019 \u2013 with the announcement of a new, remastered version of Witcher 3<\/em>.<\/p>\n

It is called The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt \u2013 Remastered<\/em>, and unsurprisingly, it is a remastered version of the acclaimed, award-winning game that delivered nearly 200 hours of solid gold playtime directly into thine brains. Think of this new version as a restomod.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As such, the remastered version will get better, upgraded visuals, enhanced combat, \u201cimproved traversal and movement\u201d, and new Witcher signs effects. Plus, there\u2019s \u2018revamped mount handling\u2019 for poor ol\u2019 Roach, \u2018enhanced monster behaviours\u2019 (because the originals were\u2026 tame?), a refresh of Geralt\u2019s skill tree, better photo mode, and new finishers.<\/p>\n

Those are just some of the headlines. Check out the teaser below which runs through loads more. And speaking of teasers, CD Projekt Red also shared a fresh look at a new<\/em> Geralt adventure called Songs of the Past<\/em> (so\u2026 a continuation model rather than a resto?), and it looks\u2026 really rather exciting. That\u2019s further below.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

SOTP<\/em> will take place in a brand-new region called \u2018Letten\u2019, and this new land is apparently \u201crich in rural tradition and folkore\u201d, but \u201ca dark secret lurks just beneath the surface\u201d, forcing Geralt back into the world of monster slaying to overcome \u201cnever-before-seen foes\u201d. Yep, sign us up.<\/p>\n

This expansion will launch at some point next year for all the major consoles and PC, while the Witcher 3<\/em> resto \u2013 available as a free upgrade to anyone who\u2019s ever bought Witcher 3<\/em> \u2013 is coming much, much sooner, on 29 September.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
