Rusedski has described Alex Eala as \u201cspecial\u201d and made a prediction about the Filipina star\u2019s chances at the 2026 US Open.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/alex-eala\">Eala<\/a> is currently projected to be seeded 17th at the US Open, having climbed to a career-high WTA ranking of world No 18 this week.<\/p>\n<p>The 21-year-old\u2019s run to the fourth round at the 2026 Wimbledon Championships is the best Grand Slam result of her career to date.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on his <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BiXujJOcfmA&amp;t=4s\" target=\"_blank\">Off Court With Greg Rusedski<\/a> podcast, Rusedski looked ahead to Eala\u2019s campaign at the final major of the 2026 season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, I think she\u2019ll sell out [crowds] like she did in Toronto,\u201d said the former world No 4.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, how impressive was her result in Washington, the way she played? She\u2019s the first Filipina to make the fourth round of a major, I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if she\u2019s in the quarters or semis. She\u2019s that good. I think the mentality is second to none.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI look between the ears, having coached and worked on tour in the men\u2019s and the women\u2019s, the most important [thing], cause everybody can play, but it\u2019s a swagger, it\u2019s the belief, it\u2019s in between the ears, it\u2019s the intensity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe goes tick, tick, tick, tick, tick in all boxes. I mean, she must be a dream to work with, so as a coach and as somebody who watches, she is special, and I think she could have a deep run, and I would be surprised if she doesn\u2019t get into the quarters.
