When we talk about muses, we tend to focus on the most famous examples \u2014 Yoko Ono, Audrey Hepburn, Edie Sedgwick, Lee Radziwill, Jane Birkin, even Julia Fox<\/a> \u2014 but there\u2019s one name that deserves to be added to the conversation: Nicole Kidman<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been 36 years since Kidman\u2019s first U.S. film hit theaters, and since then, the Birth<\/em> actor has starred in more than 75 (!) films and eight TV shows, and inspired a long list of Keith Urban songs during her marriage to the country singer. She has the same level of cultural clout as, say, Marilyn Monroe did during her heyday, and it looks like her relevance isn\u2019t going anywhere, bad wigs be damned. On Aug. 24, burgeoning pop girl Ad\u00e9la<\/a> shared the track list for her upcoming album Prima<\/em><\/a>, and sitting pretty at No. 2 is a song titled none other than \u201cNicole Kidman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ad\u00e9la isn\u2019t the only pop act to give Kidman her flowers recently. Unless you were traversing the mountains of Spain at the time (guilty), you probably saw the perennial A-list actor pop up in the music video for Troye Sivan\u2019s<\/a> new single, \u201cShe\u2019s the Best<\/a>.\u201d Beyond their shared Australian connection, Sivan asked Kidman to star in the video because \u201cshe\u2019s always just been such a picture of the divine feminine to [him],\u201d per Rolling Stone<\/em><\/a>, and considering she\u2019s portrayed Grace Kelly and<\/em> Queen Atlanna on screen, it\u2019s not hard to understand why.<\/p>\n

This obsession is nothing new: In 2011, Frank Ocean<\/a> used the dialogue from Kidman\u2019s Eyes Wide Shut<\/em> unraveling as the outro for the track \u201cLovecrimes,\u201d and in 2015, MGK called her out by name in the song \u201cWorld Series.\u201d \u201cI\u2019m gone, rolling with Nicole Kidman,\u201d he sings in the first verse; even rappers-turned-rock-stars know you haven\u2019t made it until you\u2019re brushing shoulders with television\u2019s Celeste Wright. And who could forget the time Charli XCX<\/a> wore a Nicole Kidman T-shirt?<\/a><\/p>\n

For someone whose discography doesn\u2019t extend much farther beyond a few movie musicals, Nicole Kidman sure has the pop world in a chokehold.<\/p>\n
