Why do you hyperventilate every time you see me?\u201d she asks.<\/p>\n<p>Poga\u010dar is clearly perplexed by the intrusion. The area behind the podium is typically an oasis of relative calm that\u2019s kept clear of media reporters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat? She boasts three million followers on Instagram and a similar number on Tik Tok.<\/p>\n<p>According to <em>Marca<\/em>, she built her online empire through hidden-camera pranks that have since become her trademark. Many of them appear to be without knowledge of the racing context nor the characters she speaks to.<\/p>\n<p>For example, minutes before the \u201cPogachita\u201d interaction on Saturday, Jons approaches a Netcompany Ineos <em>soigneur<\/em> while he waits for Josh Tarling. The big Welshman just rocketed to third-place on the stage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou are here to distract the journalists? Many women have been fighting for years to expand our space in a male sport, so that we are treated with respect and have the same opportunities as others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a serious skip that a person with no knowledge of the sport is hired whose content will be based on this series of sexist comments from which women have been fleeing for centuries!!!<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-placeholder-wrapper relative w-full border-t border-b border-border-light col-span-full my-3 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2\">\n<div class=\"mb-[30px] min-h-[30px] text-center\"><span class=\"font-utility-4 font-medium tracking-[1px] text-neutral-500 uppercase\">ADVERTISEMENT<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-placeholder -mt-[30px] mb-[30px] flex min-h-[250px] w-full items-center justify-center\">\n<div class=\"w-full \">\n<div id=\"in-content-leaderboard-in-content-leaderboard-I4-P0-CMI0\" class=\"flex justify-center text-left\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cIt is a lack of respect for us, for the professionals who are here and especially for the cyclists. No one has to put up with being treated as an object, neither women nor men,\u201d Mesegeur wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Later Sunday, RTVE\u2019s Vuelta a Espa\u00f1a commentator Carlos de Andr\u00e9s voiced his support for Meseguer.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking live on the Spanish channel\u2019s race broadcast, he branded the video \u00a0\u201cridiculous\u201d and called on the race to rethink its new hire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that they want to hire an influencer is fine by me, but they have to be careful, especially considering what women have fought for to prevent these kinds of sexist comments,\u201d De Andr\u00e9s said. \u201cI hope the organization reacts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Velo<\/em> reached out to the Veulta a Espa\u00f1a for comment on Monday.
