The Philadelphia Cycling Classic returns after a long and hard-felt absence this Sunday, August 30, and it\u2019s attracted a suitably star-spangled line-up.<\/p>\n
National road champion Quinn Simmons and Alaska\u2019s Olympic superstar Kristen Faulkner headline the U.S. contingent slated for the first edition of \u201cPhilly\u201d since 2016.<\/p>\n
Canadian champions Derek Gee-West and Maggie Coles-Lyster are other key names to watch in Sunday\u2019s reboot of a retired lynchpin of the U.S. domestic calendar.<\/p>\n
And it won\u2019t only be WorldTour stars chasing the $150k prize purse on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Domestic talents will see their chances too.<\/p>\n
A total of 19 North American men\u2019s and women\u2019s conti squads will join eight WorldTour teams and seven second-tier pro teams at the start of Sunday\u2019s two races.<\/p>\n
Watch out in particular for George Hinchapie\u2019s fledgling Modern Adventure Pro Cycling in the men\u2019s race. The U.S.-based team will come out swinging at their top-tier rivals after they relished a strong start to their European campaign in 2026.<\/p>\n
How to watch the men\u2019s and women\u2019s Philadelphia Cycling Classic<\/h2>\n
Established in 1985, the men\u2019s Philadelphia Cycling Classic was once the highest-rated UCI single-day race in the United States. The partnering women\u2019s race was added to the program in 2013 before both events shuttered in 2016.<\/p>\n
Both the men and women will tackle the race\u2019s original city-center circuit on Sunday. The 23km loop is centered on the notorious \u201cManayank Wall,\u201d a 500-meter climb that hits a 17 percent gradient in sections.<\/p>\n
And the best bit about Philly\u2019s long-awaited return?<\/p>\n
It will be available to watch live both locally and internationally via race broadcaster 6abc<\/em>.<\/p>\n 6abc promises all-day coverage via all its streaming platforms, including the 24\/7 channel, Hulu, and Disney+. The racing will also be hosted on 6abc\u2019s YouTube channel<\/u>.<\/p>\n The women\u2019s 100km race rolls out at 08:30 EDT.
