The health of Norway<\/a>‘s King Harald has “deteriorated” while in the hospital this weekend, the royal household said in a statement on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Harald, 89, is being treated for haemolytic anaemia, a condition caused by the rapid destruction of red blood cells.<\/p>\n

The disorder causes fatigue, weakness, shortness of breath and paleness.<\/p>\n

“His Majesty the King’s health deteriorated \u200bover the weekend. The King is \u2060receiving \u200bantibiotics for \u200ba bacterial infection in his \u200bblood, and \u200chas responded to this \u200btreatment,” the \u2060palace said. His condition was stable, the statement added.<\/p>\n
