In 2023,\u00a0the number of local BBC Introducing\u00a0programmes\u00a0was reduced from 32 to 20, prompting criticism from musicians including\u00a0Sigrid\u00a0and\u00a0Elton Introducing\u00a0has announced a month-long\u00a0programme\u00a0of events for emerging artists across 10 UK locations.<\/p>\n<p>The string of shows will take place throughout November, hosting performances, workshops, educational panels, open mic sessions and networking opportunities in Belfast, Bridgend, Gateshead, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Nottingham and Sunderland.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The\u00a0announcement follows the confirmation last month that\u00a0the BBC Introducing Stage had been axed from Reading &amp; Leeds after 18 years.<\/p>\n<p>Launched in 2008, the festival stage had hosted artists including\u00a0Ed Sheeran and The 1975 early in their careers, and the BBC said it had supported approximately 70 per cent of the British artists appearing across the festivals\u2019 2026 line-up.<\/p>\n<p>A Festival Republic spokesperson told\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>that the Canopy stage would host emerging musicians from a wider pool and said\u00a0the decision was made to \u201csupport a more diverse range of up-and-coming artists, who will hopefully go on to headline the festival in years to events, BBC Introducing editor Kelly Betts said: \u201cChampioning and nurturing artists and creatives is at the heart of everything BBC Introducing does and so I\u2019m excited that Introducing LIVE will be returning in November for our biggest year yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0programme\u00a0will begin in Bridgend and London on November 5 and conclude with four separate showcases in Leeds on Introducing currently supports unsigned musicians through its Uploader platform, and on 23 local radio\u00a0programmes\u00a0and six national shows on Radio 1, Radio 2, 6 Music, Asian Network and Radio class=\"lazy-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The scheme has also expanded into the US with partnerships with college radio programmes in Tennessee, with plans to extend the project into further states in the future.<\/p>\n<p>It has been instrumental in the rise of artists including Sheeran,\u00a0RAYE,\u00a0Olivia Dean, Sam Fender and Loyle Carner.<\/p>\n<p>The network has faced concern over cuts in recent years.
