Her death was announced by her father Skip, who described her as \u201can incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her\u201d. An official cause of death has not been disclosed, but\u00a0911 dispatch audio revealed medical personnel were treating her for a \u201csuspected overdose\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRest in Power Hayden Panettiere. Don\u2019t put kids in show business,\u201d McGowan urged on social media. \u201cNone of this is normal. Just logistics.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Having made her first on-screen appearance at 11 months old in a Playskool toy advert, Panettiere broke out as a child star in Disney\u2019s <em>Remember the Titans<\/em>, and went on to secure roles in<em> Ally McBeal, Raising Helen, Tiger Cruise, Racing Stripes, Ice Princess, Malcolm in the Middle <\/em>and <em>Bring It On: All or Nothing<\/em>, all before she turned 18.<\/p>\n<p>In her first statement since her daughter\u2019s death, Panettiere\u2019s mother, Lesley Vogel, recently spoke out against the actor\u2019s former partner, Brian Hickerson, who was said to be with her at the time of her death.<\/p>\n<p>Panettiere claimed in her recent memoir that he domestically abused her, something he acknowledged in an interview with\u00a0<em>TMZ\u00a0<\/em>in May, and Vogel expressed her \u201cconcern\u201d about his influence on her. Vogel and Panettiere had been estranged for some time before her death.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis person in her life that we have been trying to get rid of for quite some time was with her at her death, and that was Brian Hickerson,\u201d Vogel told\u00a0<em>NBC News<\/em>\u00a0on Tuesday (August 18). \u201cThere is a lot of history in the past that Brian has enabled Hayden many times and this is why her father and I had been concerned for a long time about him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Discussing her daughter, she said: \u201cI think Hayden was an amazingly talented person in so many departments and I think young people who grow up in the entertainment industry \u2014 it is a struggle and it\u2019s a very challenging industry and it\u2019s not unusual for them to sadly find the wrong path.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tributes have poured in from the entertainment industry since Hayden Panettiere\u2019s passing, with\u00a0<em>Heroes<\/em> co-star Sendhil Ramamurthy recalling how she supported treatment of child actors.<\/p>\n<p>Famous for her roles in <em>Heroes<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Nashville<\/em>, and the\u00a0<em>Scream<\/em>\u00a0franchise, Panettiere died in her home in South Carolina on August 16. Her death was announced by her father Skip, who described her as \u201can incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her\u201d. An official cause of death has not been disclosed, but\u00a0911 dispatch audio revealed medical personnel were treating her for a \u201csuspected overdose\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRest in Power Hayden Panettiere.
