Bolstered by features from JPEGMAFIA, Yebba and Westside Gunn, \u201cii\u201d is thrilling and theatrical, a technically mind-blowing work from rapper Denzel and producer Kenny. The opener \u201cGone Fishing\u201d is as good a place to start as any.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Every song that beabadoobee has released from her 18th September-set fourth album, Pylon<\/em>, has been better than the last. Shygirl is back, even if for us she never really left, and she is kicking off a new era with \u201cAlyse\u201d, her first release of the year. The track comes with a three-act short film that follows a high-speed chase and back-alley encounters, developed from an original story co-written by Shygirl herself.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After releasing his Weekend Rockstar<\/em> album earlier this year in February, Feng is back with his latest EP in the form of \u201cSummer at Camp Lakepine\u201d. It builds on the British rapper\u2019s funky, animated production as he lays his signature nonchalant vocals for a vibe that\u2019s infectious, head-bopping and kind of liberating. \u201cFake Friends\u201d is the vibey focus track.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been 20 years since an 18-year-old foul-mouthed rapscallion changed British indie music forever. As the man of the people announces his sixth album, Ghosts (100 Days of Morning)<\/em>, will be released on 9th October and shares news of an accompanying tour, Jamie delivers a soaring, nostalgic and essential anthem \u2013 \u201c3310\u201d.<\/p>\n

Lucy Bedroque \u2013 \u201cSPEED DEMON\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lucy Bedroque\u2019s new release is \u201cSPEED DEMON\u201d, their first new track since last year\u2019s debut mixtape \u201cUnmusique\u201d. The 20-year-old artist has been making, producing and rapping since 2020, building a sound that jumps between genres. The new track comes with a suitably eclectic video, directed by Neve Abcari, which sees Lucy in an abandoned, candle-lit house surrounded by surreal demon-like figures. With their new mixtape \u201cc\u201d on the way, \u201cSPEED DEMON\u201d feels like a pretty good preview of what\u2019s coming next.<\/p>\n

Westside Cowboy \u2013 \u201cWorried Age\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The UK\u2019s next big band, Westside Cowboy, condenses their self-coined \u2018Britainicana\u2019 into a rousing, intricate and sensational debut album. It Goes On<\/em>\u2019s 35 minutes fly by, with a great variety of tones and styles amalgamating together, sometimes within the same track. Lead single, \u201cWorried Age\u201d is of the highest echelon in terms of emotion and effervescence.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Remi Wolf \u2013 \u201cBottle\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Remi Wolf\u2019s no longer stuck in the Mud <\/em>trying to get her \u201cBottle\u201d. The release of this single marks the announcement of her third studio album, a project that is her most grounded yet. Careful, \u201ccleansing\u201d and considered, this feels like Remi at her most peaceful. On \u201cBottle\u201d, ironically, she feels free, rather than bottled. Her husky, soulful vocals flow over a spacious, indie-rock melody.\u00a0<\/p>\n

K-Trap ft. Nemzzz \u2013 \u201cDOING THE MOST\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Despite the sun dipping out for a brief moment, it doesn\u2019t just feel like summer, but we can hear the Carnival whistles blowing\u2026<\/p>\n

London five-piece bby are back with \u201cUr Bedroom\u201d, the latest taste of their upcoming second album 2<\/em>, out in November. The guitar-heavy track follows July\u2019s \u201cChange\u201d and comes after a pretty wild year for the band, who have picked up a growing audience across the UK, Europe and North America. Things really kicked off after frontman Benjy, Fred again..\u2019s younger brother, appeared on his and LATIN MAFIA\u2019s mixtape \u201c9 months & 50 hours\u201d. Now they\u2019re taking that momentum into their own music, with \u201cUr Bedroom\u201d showing off the loud, messy energy that\u2019s made their live shows such a draw.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Rex Orange County ft. Daniel Caesar \u2013 \u201cIndecision\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

REDD \u2013 \u201cbetter\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Naarm\/Melbourne artist REDD. is back with a new single, \u201cbetter\u201d, a track about wanting to forget your problems for a night and have a good time. Originally written as a party song, it took on a more personal edge when REDD. recorded it in London with producer Dan Carey. With a mix of punk, rap and electro, \u201cbetter\u201d captures that very specific early-twenties feeling of making questionable decisions because, honestly, what else are you meant to do? Copenhagen-based singer-songwriter GB is keeping his \u201cBelly\u201d full, with the release of his second-studio album, Herzsprung<\/em>. Spacious, guitar-led and quietly unravelling, the track sees him at his most assured. His husky vocals drift between the grooves, while warped guitars and a restless rhythm give the song an adventurous edge. There\u2019s a looseness here that feels intentional \u2013 playful, immediate and alive.<\/p>\n

Silica Gel \u2013 \u201cBallad Of You\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

South Korean alt-rock band Silica Gel just released Ballad of You<\/em>, their first studio album in around three years. Following 2023\u2019s POWER ANDRE 99<\/em>, the 12-track record sees the Seoul-based four-piece move away from the \u201cMachine Boy\u201d era and into something stranger and more experimental. Their sound pulls together psychedelic rock, electronic textures and heavier guitars, while the album\u2019s \u201cSpiral Molting\u201d concept explores ideas of death, rebirth and transformation.<\/p>\n

Wishy \u2013 \u201cSensational\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Indianapolis five-piece Wishy bring us \u201cSensational\u201d, the latest taste of their upcoming album Nature\u2019s Pill<\/em>. If you like a bit of \u201890s nostalgia, there\u2019s plenty to get into here, with the new track mixing sugary dream-pop with grungier edges. It\u2019s a little different from their previous singles \u201cAll The Rage\u201d and \u201cLovesick\u201d, but still has that catchy Wishy feel. The best part? The accompanying video was made using 3,000 paper cut-outs of the band, because they are always happy to take things to the next level.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Squirrel Flower \u2013 \u201cCleveland\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chicago artist and songwriter Ella Williams, aka Squirrel Flower, has shared \u201cCleveland\u201d, the final single from her new album Say a Prayer to the Gods of Getting Going<\/em>. Co-written with Williams\u2019 sibling Nate, it\u2019s a little different from her usual solo approach, while the accompanying film-like video follows her hitchhiking to Cleveland before slipping into a very American domestic daydream. It seems they were right: you\u2019ll want to \u201cdance\u201d with this one.<\/p>\n

Eric IV \u2013 \u201cAmnesia\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
