Mark Walter has agreed to sell his majority ownership stake in the Los Angeles Lakers just a little more than one year after buying it, a fascinating development with several side stories likely to continue unfolding over the coming months.<\/p>\n

The deal will also \u2014 maybe \u2014 end the Buss family\u2019s 47-year run as stewards of the franchise. At least that\u2019s what five of the six Buss siblings are hoping for. They\u2019ve voted to sell<\/a> their roughly 18 percent share in the team. Since the lone holdout is Jeanie Buss<\/a>, the most powerful of the bunch, the five-against-one showdown kind of feels like a coin flip. Stay tuned.<\/p>\n
