\n\tThe Outer Banks<\/em> star learned that little piece of information live on Wednesdays (Aug. 19) episode of Today<\/em>, when host Carson Daly brought up her cameo in Carpenter\u2019s cheeky, sultry video for \u201cHouse Tour.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

\n\tCline had nothing but love for the opportunity to be featured, alongside Carpenter and Margaret Qualley, explaining that accepting the role was an \u201cimmediate yes\u201d because she and the pop star have been friends for a long time \u2014 and because, well, she\u2019s a Sabrina Carpenter fan herself.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNo questions asked,\u201d Cline said of joining the music video. \u201cWe\u2019ve been friends for a long time. \u2026 I\u2019ve been a fan of Sabrina\u2019s for a long time too.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tThen Daly hit her with the news, asking her if she was aware that it was nominated for a VMA the day before. Cline\u2019s reaction was so lighthearted but humorous as well, since she was visibly surprised and immediately broke into laughter as she processed the nomination.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cNo! What? I\u2019m really excited!\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m so behind. I\u2019m sweating.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n

\n\tCarpenter and Qualley \u2014 who co-directed the video and co-star alongside Cline \u2014 earned the best direction nomination for \u201cHouse Tour,\u201d one of seven nominations Carpenter received for the 2026 VMAs, where she is also up for video of the year (for \u201cTears\u201d) and artist of the year.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe nomination is also another feather in the cap (no pun intended) for a song that has already had quite the Billboard<\/em> run. \u201cHouse Tour\u201d charted at No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 following the release of Carpenter\u2019s Man\u2019s Best Friend<\/em> album in August 2025. And the song isn\u2019t exactly ready to move out of Carpenter\u2019s chart house quite yet: \u201cHouse Tour\u201d continued its run on the Hot 100 into 2026, hitting No. 68 in July as it picked up steady radio support.<\/p>\n\n\tThe accompanying video, meanwhile, is basically a three-minute-and-change fever dream tailor-made for the Sabrina-verse. Carpenter, Qualley and Cline roll up to a mansion in a pink \u201cPretty Girl Clean-Up Crew\u201d van before proceeding to gleefully wreak havoc throughout the house.<\/p>\n
\n\tAnd Cline is clearly still not over the fact that she got to be a part of it. Last week, while appearing on Jake Shane\u2019s Therapuss<\/em> podcast, Cline called being part of the video one of her favorite achievements. \u201cTo look in the mirror and to know that I am part of the Sabrina-verse is truly one of \u2014 I feel like it\u2019s one of my favorite accomplishments,\u201d she said, adding that she \u201cadore[s] Sabrina\u201d and has \u201cloved her for so long.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\t\u201cShe is such a good, good person. She\u2019s such a good friend,\u201d Cline continued.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe actress also revealed that \u201cHouse Tour\u201d was filmed entirely on film over two full days, which is a fittingly elaborate production for a video that has now earned Carpenter and Qualley some very shiny VMA recognition.<\/p>\n
