Jodar has been urged to get another coach to work alongside his father, despite the Spaniard\u2019s rapid rise up the rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Since the turn of the year, the 19-year-old has shot up from 168th in the world to being on the cusp of the top 10.<\/p>\n<p>The teenager won his first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/atp-tour\">ATP Tour<\/a> title in April in Morocco, alongside impressive quarter-final runs in Madrid, Rome and the French Open.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/rafael-jodar\">Jodar<\/a>, who also made it to the last four in Montreal and was a runner-up in Washington this summer, is 11th in the rankings and seventh in the race to Turin.<\/p>\n<p>And despite his meteoric ascent, former world No 1 women\u2019s doubles player <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/rennae-stubbs\">Rennae Stubbs<\/a> believes that the youngster could do with another experienced head in his corner.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>More ATP Tour Add us as<span>\u00a0<\/span><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/preferences\/source?q=tennis365.com\" target=\"_blank\">a preferred source on Google to your favourites list<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>for tennis coverage you can trust.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jodar and his father deserve huge credit for making it to this point but the Australian feels that a top coach may be able to take him to the next level.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, Serena Williams\u2019 coach suggested a certain Spaniard who has been out of work since leaving <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\">Carlos Alcaraz<\/a>\u2018s entourage last December.<\/p>\n<p>Stubbs said on the latest episode of her <a rel=\"noopener nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/podcasts.apple.com\/us\/podcast\/the-rennae-stubbs-tennis-podcast\/id1393881115\" target=\"_blank\">podcast<\/a>, \u201cHe [Jodar] was lovely, a delight to talk to, he answered the questions really in-depth. He was great with the fans.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI do think there\u2019s a little snippety or snickety [side to him], [he\u2019s a] bit punchy sometimes on the court. But he\u2019s 19; he\u2019s learning to deal with these pressures now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She continued,\u00a0\u201cMaybe someone to add\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/juan-carlos-ferrero\">Juan Carlos Ferrero<\/a>. Somebody that can add that extra layer of how to emotionally handle the semi-final and the final. How to deal with the press.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stubbs added that his dad has done a \u201cgreat job\u201d and is a \u201clovely human being\u201d but taking that next step towards winning the biggest titles will be no easy task.<\/p>\n<p>For the time being, though, Jodar is doing very little wrong.\u00a0The world No 11 is hoping for another deep run, this time at Cincinnati, as he prepares for his first US Open.<\/p>\n<p>Incidentally, Ferrero \u2013 who was Alcaraz\u2019s coach for six of his seven Grand Slam triumphs \u2013 opened the door to working with five-time major winner and world No 1 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/jannik-sinner\">Jannik Sinner<\/a> in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Back in June, the former French Open champion admitted it would be \u201cbeautiful\u201d to coach the Italian and that he likes the 25-year-old\u2019s attitude.
