That&#8217;s according to filings on the website of US government agency the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).<\/p>\n<p>As spotted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.resetera.com\/threads\/a-new-version-of-the-dualsense-edge-is-probably-arriving-early-next-year-based-on-fcc-documents.1607020\/\">ResetEra<\/a>, the new DualSense Edge&#8217;s model number is CFI-ZCP2, which is one number above the current CFI-ZCP1 model. So what might all this mean?<\/p>\n<p>The running theory is that, rather than being a major design overhaul, CFI-ZCP2 will simply allow easier access to the Edge&#8217;s rechargeable lithium-ion battery so users can more easily replace it. The law goes into effect in 2027, which appears to be when the new DualSense Edge model will be available. Some of the document names <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.fcc.gov\/oetcf\/eas\/reports\/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Sum&amp;calledFromFrame=N&amp;RequestTimeout=500&amp;application_id=C4%2FLR%2BICP7k65ivVriry8Q%3D%3D&amp;fcc_id=AK8CFIZCP2\">on the FCC&#8217;s page<\/a> are locked until the end of January 2027, suggesting the controller will be revealed then.
