There is this neurological condition that comes with FTD and other types of dementia that\u2019s called anosognosia, where your brain can\u2019t identify what is happening to it. Where people think this might be denial, like where they don\u2019t want to go to the doctor because \u2018I\u2019m fine.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She continued: \u201cIt\u2019s actually\u2026 this is the anosognosia that comes into play\u2026 Bruce never tapped in. He never connected the dots that he had this disease. I\u2019m really happy about that. I\u2019m really happy he doesn\u2019t know about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Regarding their relationship, she said: \u201cHe is still very much present in his body\u2026 when someone says to me, \u2018Does Bruce still know who you are?\u2019 Yes he does, because he doesn\u2019t have Alzheimer\u2019s he has FTD. He has a way with connecting with me, our children, that might not be the same as you would connect with your loved one but it\u2019s still very beautiful and meaningful. It\u2019s just different. Where people think this might be denial, like where they don\u2019t want to go to the doctor because \u2018I\u2019m fine.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She continued: \u201cIt\u2019s actually\u2026 this is the anosognosia that comes into play\u2026 Bruce never tapped in. He never connected the dots that he had this disease. I\u2019m really happy about that. I\u2019m really happy he doesn\u2019t know about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Regarding their relationship, she said: \u201cHe is still very much present in his body\u2026 when someone says to me, \u2018Does Bruce still know who you are?\u2019 Yes he does, because he doesn\u2019t have Alzheimer\u2019s he has FTD. He has a way with connecting with me, our children, that might not be the same as you would connect with your loved one but it\u2019s still very beautiful and meaningful. It\u2019s just different.
