It would have been her West End debut at London\u2019s Barbican Centre, starting next summer.<\/p>\n<p>During the first of her three shows at Chicago\u2019s United Center earlier this month, Grande took a moment to \u201cclear the air about a few things\u201d.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad2 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-2\" class=\"lazy-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>She said: \u201cI heard that my fans were worried that negativity was ruining things for me, but I just have to say that could not be more the far opposite. This is not what that is. And I just want to be very, very clear: multiple things can be true at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoundaries need to be set, human beings can need a break sometimes and also, this can be and will continue to be the greatest experience of my professional and creative life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elaborating on her reasons for speaking out, Grande shared: \u201cI needed to get out here and differentiate that from my truth for all of you because I love you and this tour has been the most healing, beautiful, corrective, magnificent, special experience of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The decision came after renewed public commentary surrounding Grande\u2019s body and appearance, which intensified online after she recently released the video for \u2018Petal\u2018, the title track from her new album.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Reviewing the first night at The O2, <em>NME<\/em> awarded the show five stars, describing it as \u201cbrilliant business-as-usual before the singer takes a break from the spotlight\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>It added: \u201cFor much of the two-hour runtime, Grande\u2019s setlist nimbly mixes gold-plated bops (2016\u2019s dance-pop starburst \u2018Into You\u2019; 2019\u2019s sleek R&amp;B gem \u2018Thank U, Next\u2019) with vibey and sometimes less immediate deep cuts from \u2018Eternal Sunshine\u2019 and her latest album\u00a0\u2018Petal\u2019, which dropped two weeks ago. The deftness of this blend really becomes apparent in the final section, when her new album\u2019s clattering title track segues into the cathartic crowd-pleaser \u2018We Can\u2019t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)\u2019. Grande\u2019s overall message tonight seems to fall somewhere between \u2018Thank U, Next\u2019 and \u2018Yes, And?\u2019. She\u2019s doing business as usual until she boxes up her stage costumes in September.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Jeff Goldblum recently spoke to <em>NME<\/em> about working with \u201cthose wonderful, wonderful ladies from <em>Wicked<\/em>\u201d and how they featured on his recent album \u2018Night Blooms\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we were on the set, we got to singing and they said, \u2018Yes, we want to be on the album\u2019,\u201d Goldblum said working with the pair as the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. \u201cBut before we shot a single frame of film, we got together and had this lovely Thanksgiving dinner with the wonderful Jon M. Chu [director], his family and some of the crew. There was a piano there, I sat down and started playing. They love music and they\u2019re so masterfully gifted and accomplished that I was floating on air singing with them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen on set, I was trying to do my job but couldn\u2019t help but sing every song I knew in between takes. They knew every jazz standard and every Broadway show tune. We were singing and talking about what we liked, but I didn\u2019t have any agenda about them playing with me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cI started to sing this one song \u2018I Don\u2019t Know Why (I Just Do)\u2019, and Ariana said, \u2018How are you singing that song? My grandfather used to sing that to me all the time\u2019. I told them about our band and she said she\u2019d love to record it. venue on her \u2018Eternal Sunshine\u2019 tour. And I just want to be very, very clear: multiple things can be true at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBoundaries need to be set, human beings can need a break sometimes and also, this can be and will continue to be the greatest experience of my professional and creative life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elaborating on her reasons for speaking out, Grande shared: \u201cI needed to get out here and differentiate that from my truth for all of you because I love you and this tour has been the most healing, beautiful, corrective, magnificent, special experience of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The decision came after renewed public commentary surrounding Grande\u2019s body and appearance, which intensified online after she recently released the video for \u2018Petal\u2018, the title track from her new album.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Reviewing the first night at The O2, <em>NME<\/em> awarded the show five stars, describing it as \u201cbrilliant business-as-usual before the singer takes a break from the spotlight\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>It added: \u201cFor much of the two-hour runtime, Grande\u2019s setlist nimbly mixes gold-plated bops (2016\u2019s dance-pop starburst \u2018Into You\u2019; 2019\u2019s sleek R&amp;B gem \u2018Thank U, Next\u2019) with vibey and sometimes less immediate deep cuts from \u2018Eternal Sunshine\u2019 and her latest album\u00a0\u2018Petal\u2019, which dropped two weeks ago. The deftness of this blend really becomes apparent in the final section, when her new album\u2019s clattering title track segues into the cathartic crowd-pleaser \u2018We Can\u2019t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)\u2019. Grande\u2019s overall message tonight seems to fall somewhere between \u2018Thank U, Next\u2019 and \u2018Yes, And?\u2019. She\u2019s doing business as usual until she boxes up her stage costumes in September.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Jeff Goldblum recently spoke to <em>NME<\/em> about working with \u201cthose wonderful, wonderful ladies from <em>Wicked<\/em>\u201d and how they featured on his recent album \u2018Night Blooms\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile we were on the set, we got to singing and they said, \u2018Yes, we want to be on the album\u2019,\u201d Goldblum said working with the pair as the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. \u201cBut before we shot a single frame of film, we got together and had this lovely Thanksgiving dinner with the wonderful Jon M. Chu [director], his family and some of the crew. There was a piano there, I sat down and started playing. They love music and they\u2019re so masterfully gifted and accomplished that I was floating on air singing with them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen on set, I was trying to do my job but couldn\u2019t help but sing every song I knew in between takes. They knew every jazz standard and every Broadway show tune. We were singing and talking about what we liked, but I didn\u2019t have any agenda about them playing with me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cI started to sing this one song \u2018I Don\u2019t Know Why (I Just Do)\u2019, and Ariana said, \u2018How are you singing that song? My grandfather used to sing that to me all the time\u2019. I told them about our band and she said she\u2019d love to record it.
