After its release, he later confirmed that he used AI as a \u201ctool\u201d on the LP.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe definitely used AI as a [tool]. And I know people are going to be mad about me saying this, but it\u2019s where technology is going,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cIt\u2019s no different than when Auto-Tune came out. Some people were opposed to it, but real artists took it and used it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked where the AI was used, he replied: \u201cWe were like, you know what? I need some \u201980s synths for a certain part of this song. I need a guitar solo done ASAP. It is what it is.\u201d Tyga also clarified that production on the album and \u201call the vocals\u201d were created without AI.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, there has been some backlash to the album, including from Doja Cat who took aim at him during a recent livestream. Having worked with Tyga on two songs previously, she said on Wednesday (August 12): \u201cNobody asked me anything about Tyga, but I felt like saying this. Tyga is a penis for making an AI album.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Doja Cat comments on the recent controversy of Tyga using AI for his new album:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTyga is a p*nis for making an AI album.\u201d pic.twitter.com\/vWdgPMYyPJ<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Doja HQ (@DojaHQs) August 13, 2026<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As well as that, the new album received the lowest possible rating in a <em>Pitchfork<\/em> review, which gave it 0\/10 rating. In the review, Pitchfork described \u2018$tarface\u2019 as \u201csmug and complacent and depressing\u201d and wrote that \u201cits very existence has made the world a worse place.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad1 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h5 class=\"taboola-mid-article-title\">Recommended<\/h5>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Now, Tyga has responded to the backlash and defended the album. Speaking about Cat\u2019s comments, Tyga said on <em>TMZ Live<\/em>: \u201cListen, I love Doja, but she made a demonic album\u201d \u2013 not explicitly clarifying which album of hers he meant. \u201cBut I still love her\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>As for the Pitchfork review, he dismissed the criticism and said that he wasn\u2019t aware of the publication beforehand. \u201cI don\u2019t really know what <em>Pitchfork<\/em> is. All I know is the devil uses a pitchfork,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The rapper also defended the use of AI in the album again, explaining that he wrote all of the songs himself and was wanting to experiment with a new sound.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just feel like there\u2019s no rules anymore,\u201d he said. You don\u2019t have to put yourself in a box on what things have to be creatively. I\u2019ve been in the game for 15 years-plus. Boy George also said he used AI to help write his pro-Israel reggae song \u2018We Will Dance Again\u2019, which eventually led to it being removed from Bandcamp for violating its AI rules.<\/p>\n<p>Others, including Mac DeMarco, SZA and Lorde, have been far more critical of the growing influence of AI, with Jack Antonoff slamming musicians who use it as \u201cgodless whores\u201d. has hit back at criticism towards his new album \u2018$tarface\u2019, including Doja Cat calling him a \u201cpenis for making an AI album\u201d and <em>Pitchfork<\/em> giving him a 0\/10 studio record and the follow-up to his 2025 album \u2018NSFW\u2019. After its release, he later confirmed that he used AI as a \u201ctool\u201d on the LP.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe definitely used AI as a [tool]. And I know people are going to be mad about me saying this, but it\u2019s where technology is going,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cIt\u2019s no different than when Auto-Tune came out. Some people were opposed to it, but real artists took it and used it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked where the AI was used, he replied: \u201cWe were like, you know what? I need some \u201980s synths for a certain part of this song. I need a guitar solo done ASAP. It is what it is.\u201d Tyga also clarified that production on the album and \u201call the vocals\u201d were created without AI.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, there has been some backlash to the album, including from Doja Cat who took aim at him during a recent livestream. Having worked with Tyga on two songs previously, she said on Wednesday (August 12): \u201cNobody asked me anything about Tyga, but I felt like saying this. In the review, Pitchfork described \u2018$tarface\u2019 as \u201csmug and complacent and depressing\u201d and wrote that \u201cits very existence has made the world a worse place.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad1 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h5 class=\"taboola-mid-article-title\">Recommended<\/h5>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article\">\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Now, Tyga has responded to the backlash and defended the album. Speaking about Cat\u2019s comments, Tyga said on <em>TMZ Live<\/em>: \u201cListen, I love Doja, but she made a demonic album\u201d \u2013 not explicitly clarifying which album of hers he meant. \u201cBut I still love her\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>As for the Pitchfork review, he dismissed the criticism and said that he wasn\u2019t aware of the publication beforehand. \u201cI don\u2019t really know what <em>Pitchfork<\/em> is. All I know is the devil uses a pitchfork,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>The rapper also defended the use of AI in the album again, explaining that he wrote all of the songs himself and was wanting to experiment with a new sound.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just feel like there\u2019s no rules anymore,\u201d he said. You don\u2019t have to put yourself in a box on what things have to be creatively. I\u2019ve been in the game for 15 years-plus. Boy George also said he used AI to help write his pro-Israel reggae song \u2018We Will Dance Again\u2019, which eventually led to it being removed from Bandcamp for violating its AI rules.<\/p>\n<p>Others, including Mac DeMarco, SZA and Lorde, have been far more critical of the growing influence of AI, with Jack Antonoff slamming musicians who use it as \u201cgodless whores\u201d.
