I saw him play in Croatia two years ago when we were playing there and I envied him. The sun was going\u00a0down\u00a0and\u00a0he was able to stand there and chill out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe spend 10 minutes before going on stage slapping each other in the face,\u201d he continued. \u201cI envy someone who can send a text to his kid, go off on stage and them just play really well.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad2 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-2\" class=\"lazy-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Fontaines and Vile both appeared on\u00a0the 2021 Velvet Underground tribute album \u2018I\u2019ll Be Your Mirror\u2019, with the former contributing \u2018The Black Angel\u2019s Death Song\u2019 and the latter covering \u2018Run\u00a0Run\u00a0Run\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>at the time, Fontaines bassist Conor Deegan III said it was \u201cclass\u201d to\u00a0be connected with\u00a0Vile on a project and described his track as \u201can absolute banger\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>It comes after Fontaines previewed their forthcoming single \u2018Marianne\u2019 and recently confirmed that their fifth studio album is on the way.\u00a0No\u00a0further details have been confirmed, but the\u00a0band\u00a0have been known to be working on the record for some time.<\/p>\n<p>Talking to\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>in February last year, bassist Conor Deegan III said: \u201cIt\u2019s one of those things where we can\u2019t stop writing \u2013 it\u2019s something that we just do when we\u2019re with each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Guitarist Carlos O\u2019Connell\u00a0offered another update in January, telling\u00a0<i>NME<\/i>: \u201cWe\u2019ve been writing, it\u2019s been fun. We\u2019re at Reading &amp; Leeds and there are a couple of shows before that. I think if the music is there, it could get busy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fontaines will play a few shows around Europe \u2013 in France,\u00a0Switzerland\u00a0and Austria \u2013 in the coming days, before\u00a0topping the bill at Reading &amp; Leeds at the end of the month. They then return home\u00a0to headline Electric Picnic in Ireland on August 30.<\/p>\n<p>Their return to the stage followed\u00a0the death of their manager Trevor Dietz, who they described as \u201cthe sixth member of the band\u201d. Their first performance since his passing was at the BBC\u2019s final live session at Maida Vale earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p>They released\u00a0the standalone single \u2018It\u2019s Amazing To Be Young\u2019 in February,\u00a0covered\u00a0Sin\u00e9ad O\u2019Connor\u2019s \u2018Black Boys\u00a0On\u00a0Mopeds\u2019 for War Child\u2019s \u2018Help(2)\u2019 album\u00a0and contributed to\u00a0the soundtrack for\u00a0<i>Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Vile, meanwhile, released his 10th\u00a0studio album \u2018Philadelphia\u2019s Been Good\u00a0To\u00a0Me\u2019 in May. I saw him play in Croatia two years ago when we were playing there and I envied him. The sun was going\u00a0down\u00a0and\u00a0he was able to stand there and chill out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe spend 10 minutes before going on stage slapping each other in the face,\u201d he continued. \u201cI envy someone who can send a text to his kid, go off on stage and them just play really well.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad2 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-2\" class=\"lazy-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Fontaines and Vile both appeared on\u00a0the 2021 Velvet Underground tribute album \u2018I\u2019ll Be Your Mirror\u2019, with the former contributing \u2018The Black Angel\u2019s Death Song\u2019 and the latter covering \u2018Run\u00a0Run\u00a0Run\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>at the time, Fontaines bassist Conor Deegan III said it was \u201cclass\u201d to\u00a0be connected with\u00a0Vile on a project and described his track as \u201can absolute banger\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>It comes after Fontaines previewed their forthcoming single \u2018Marianne\u2019 and recently confirmed that their fifth studio album is on the way.\u00a0No\u00a0further details have been confirmed, but the\u00a0band\u00a0have been known to be working on the record for some time.<\/p>\n<p>Talking to\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>in February last year, bassist Conor Deegan III said: \u201cIt\u2019s one of those things where we can\u2019t stop writing \u2013 it\u2019s something that we just do when we\u2019re with each other.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Guitarist Carlos O\u2019Connell\u00a0offered another update in January, telling\u00a0<i>NME<\/i>: \u201cWe\u2019ve been writing, it\u2019s been fun. We\u2019re at Reading &amp; Leeds and there are a couple of shows before that. I think if the music is there, it could get busy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fontaines will play a few shows around Europe \u2013 in France,\u00a0Switzerland\u00a0and Austria \u2013 in the coming days, before\u00a0topping the bill at Reading &amp; Leeds at the end of the month. They then return home\u00a0to headline Electric Picnic in Ireland on August 30.<\/p>\n<p>Their return to the stage followed\u00a0the death of their manager Trevor Dietz, who they described as \u201cthe sixth member of the band\u201d. Their first performance since his passing was at the BBC\u2019s final live session at Maida Vale earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p>They released\u00a0the standalone single \u2018It\u2019s Amazing To Be Young\u2019 in February,\u00a0covered\u00a0Sin\u00e9ad O\u2019Connor\u2019s \u2018Black Boys\u00a0On\u00a0Mopeds\u2019 for War Child\u2019s \u2018Help(2)\u2019 album\u00a0and contributed to\u00a0the soundtrack for\u00a0<i>Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Vile, meanwhile, released his 10th\u00a0studio album \u2018Philadelphia\u2019s Been Good\u00a0To\u00a0Me\u2019 in May.
