\n\t\u201cI remember playing at Troubadour and being happy if that was the rest of my career,\u201d the singer said of the 500-capacity venue in West Hollywood. \u201cI\u2019m grate as f\u2014k to be here with y\u2019all.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tThe \u201cStick Season\u201d singer was then interrupted by a ringing payphone onstage. \u201cHello, God?\u201d he responded after picking up the receiver. \u201cOh, you think because it\u2019s my biggest headline show ever that as some point I should bring out a super special guest?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs promised, Kahan later welcomed Roan to the stage for a duet of \u201cCalifornia,\u201d from her 2023 debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess<\/em>. The song proved especially fitting, as it recounts Roan\u2019s journey from Missouri to Los Angeles in pursuit of a music career.<\/p>\n\n\t\u201cNoah always stands up for me, seriously,\u201d she told the crowd after giving Kahan a fist bump. \u201cHe\u2019s a good person, for real.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tBefore launching into the acoustic number, Kahan said, \u201cThis is the first song I ever heard of Kayleigh\u2019s [Roan\u2019s real first name] and the reason I fell in love with her music, and I\u2019m just really proud of her and thankful that she would come sing with me. So this is \u2018California.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKahan\u2019s set also featured songs from his breakthrough album Stick Season<\/em>, including \u201cDial Drunk,\u201d \u201cNorthern Attitude\u201d and the title track, alongside \u201cThe Great Divide,\u201d \u201cOrbiter,\u201d \u201cAmerican Cars\u201d and other tracks from his latest album, The Great Divide<\/em>, which spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.<\/p>\n\n\tKahan is currently on his The Great Divide World Tour, with a stop at San Diego\u2019s Petco Park on Monday (Aug. 17). The North American leg concludes Aug. 31 at Seattle\u2019s T-Mobile Park, followed by international dates beginning this fall.<\/p>\n
