It\u2019s done. It\u2019s kind of been done. It\u2019s a really good record. I put a lot into it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She went on to discuss an illness she suffered from in 2019, saying that her body just \u201cexploded\u201d and that she was frequently in hospitals. \u201cI almost died,\u201d she said. \u201cI lost all my hair. I was about 100 pounds. And they told me I was going to die. I didn\u2019t believe them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Love then looked back on her childhood, when she\u2019d \u201cpattern interrupt the adults,\u201d and how those memories influenced the upcoming record. \u201cThey\u2019d say red was blue, and then I\u2019d see blue. But blue was blue. So I\u2019d gaslight myself that maybe they were right, and red was blue \u2026and my head would explode. Like, fucking cope with that shit. I think some of you can relate to that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnyway,\u201d she added, \u201cI never really lost my ability to see that fucking red was red, despite them telling me that red was blue. And so when they said I was going to die, I just didn\u2019t believe them. And somehow I got better. I\u2019m healthy, which is amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She concluded the video by referencing Hole\u2019s last album, 2010\u2019s \u2018Nobody\u2019s Daughter\u2018, calling it \u201cspectacularly humbling\u201d, adding: \u201cLike, playing a Pizza Hut Park at 11am while Limp Bizkit was headlining with 30 Seconds to Mars. I will be back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the caption, Love wrote: \u201cWhen I made [the record], I believed this was my last record so I made the record I always wanted to make. I was in the hospital mostly but when I wasn\u2019t all I did was write &amp; record it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to tour more than anything. &amp; I want to sing. She also later shared more details of his contributions, saying he \u201cdoes these incredible leads. I don\u2019t think he\u2019s ever played outside the Bunnymen, other than his solo stuff. Maybe I\u2019m wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In March, Love said that the album will also feature her ex-Hole\u00a0bandmate\u00a0Melissa Auf Der Maur, who also spoke to <i>NME <\/i>earlier this year about the possibility of a Hole\u00a0reunion, hinting that the current state of politics might have made it more likely.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf\u00a0there\u2019s\u00a0one thing I know about Courtney and Hole,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0that\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0as mysterious as romantic love. The clip featured Auf der Maur posing in a flowing gown, before showing off a gold ring in a close-up shot. Hole\u2019s 1998 hit \u2018Malibu\u2019 played in the background. In the caption, Love wrote: \u201cSo do we tell the kids about the tour?\u201d Auf der Maur replied in the comments section: \u201cIt starts with eternal love\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Love later\u00a0clarified\u00a0that there would be \u201cno Hole reunion\u201d, but\u00a0did reveal that she and Auf der Maur would be \u201cplaying some shows, new songs\u201d together. She also added a new comment to her original video, telling fans: \u201cNot a\u00a0reunion baby. Me and [Auf der Maur] touring new songs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The pair\u00a0got back in the studio together in 2024\u00a0for the first time in over two decades, and later that same year,\u00a0teamed up for an appearance on 070 Shake\u2019s cover of Tim Buckley\u2019s \u2018Song To The Siren\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Love and Auf der Maur did appear on stage together in October 2018 in Hudson, New York, playing Hole songs \u2018Doll Parts\u2019,\u00a0\u2018Miss World\u2019 and \u2018Softer\u00a0Softest\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, Love called her previous solo album one of her \u201clife\u2019s great shames\u201d, alongside Steve Coogan and crack.<\/p>\n<p>Love picked up the Icon Award at the 2020 <em>NME<\/em> Awards. In her acceptance speech, she said: I woke up this morning and I have the honour of picking up this fuck you thing [waves <em>NME<\/em> award], which is fantastic in the capital of this fantastic country where I first picked up a New Musical Express in I don\u2019t know, 1981 in fucking Liverpool where I read the other day I lost my virginity to Joy Division\u2019s \u2018Isolation\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that\u2019s psychotic. I\u2019m also 18 months sober today. I can\u2019t believe that and that\u2019s pretty wild. Thanks so much, I\u2019m very honoured. Thanks a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after that win, she spoke to\u00a0<i>NME<\/i>\u00a0about the early stages of her latest solo album. \u201cIt\u2019s early days and I\u2019ve recorded several new songs whilst I\u2019ve been in London,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019ve also taken this time to enjoy rediscovering really good songwriters like Aimee Mann, who\u2019s from LA but went to Juilliard and is a genius and overlooked. Frances [Bean, daughter] sends me playlists, which are fantastic and full of artists that I hadn\u2019t come across before too.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for her upcoming memoir, Love has reportedly assured fans that it will arrive before Christmas this year, and will be distributed through HarperCollins. It\u2019s a promising update, as Love\u00a0last said in 2022 that the memoir\u00a0<em>The Girl With The Most Cake<\/em>\u00a0was complete, but at the time of writing has yet to be It\u2019s done. It\u2019s kind of been done. It\u2019s a really good record. I put a lot into it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She went on to discuss an illness she suffered from in 2019, saying that her body just \u201cexploded\u201d and that she was frequently in hospitals. \u201cI almost died,\u201d she said. \u201cI lost all my hair. I was about 100 pounds. And they told me I was going to die. I didn\u2019t believe them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Love then looked back on her childhood, when she\u2019d \u201cpattern interrupt the adults,\u201d and how those memories influenced the upcoming record. \u201cThey\u2019d say red was blue, and then I\u2019d see blue. But blue was blue. So I\u2019d gaslight myself that maybe they were right, and red was blue \u2026and my head would explode. Like, fucking cope with that shit. I think some of you can relate to that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnyway,\u201d she added, \u201cI never really lost my ability to see that fucking red was red, despite them telling me that red was blue. And so when they said I was going to die, I just didn\u2019t believe them. And somehow I got better. I\u2019m healthy, which is amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She concluded the video by referencing Hole\u2019s last album, 2010\u2019s \u2018Nobody\u2019s Daughter\u2018, calling it \u201cspectacularly humbling\u201d, adding: \u201cLike, playing a Pizza Hut Park at 11am while Limp Bizkit was headlining with 30 Seconds to Mars. She also later shared more details of his contributions, saying he \u201cdoes these incredible leads. I don\u2019t think he\u2019s ever played outside the Bunnymen, other than his solo stuff. Maybe I\u2019m wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In March, Love said that the album will also feature her ex-Hole\u00a0bandmate\u00a0Melissa Auf Der Maur, who also spoke to <i>NME <\/i>earlier this year about the possibility of a Hole\u00a0reunion, hinting that the current state of politics might have made it more likely.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf\u00a0there\u2019s\u00a0one thing I know about Courtney and Hole,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0that\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0as mysterious as romantic love. The clip featured Auf der Maur posing in a flowing gown, before showing off a gold ring in a close-up shot. Hole\u2019s 1998 hit \u2018Malibu\u2019 played in the background. In the caption, Love wrote: \u201cSo do we tell the kids about the tour?\u201d Auf der Maur replied in the comments section: \u201cIt starts with eternal love\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Love later\u00a0clarified\u00a0that there would be \u201cno Hole reunion\u201d, but\u00a0did reveal that she and Auf der Maur would be \u201cplaying some shows, new songs\u201d together. She also added a new comment to her original video, telling fans: \u201cNot a\u00a0reunion baby. Me and [Auf der Maur] touring new songs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The pair\u00a0got back in the studio together in 2024\u00a0for the first time in over two decades, and later that same year,\u00a0teamed up for an appearance on 070 Shake\u2019s cover of Tim Buckley\u2019s \u2018Song To The Siren\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Love and Auf der Maur did appear on stage together in October 2018 in Hudson, New York, playing Hole songs \u2018Doll Parts\u2019,\u00a0\u2018Miss World\u2019 and \u2018Softer\u00a0Softest\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, Love called her previous solo album one of her \u201clife\u2019s great shames\u201d, alongside Steve Coogan and crack.<\/p>\n<p>Love picked up the Icon Award at the 2020 <em>NME<\/em> Awards.
