href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\">Carlos Alcaraz<\/a> \u201ctrained at 55% last week\u201d as he discussed his compatriot\u2019s chances of playing at the 2026 US Open.<\/p>\n<p>Alcaraz has been absent from the tour since he sustained a right wrist injury during his first round win at the Barcelona Open in April.<\/p>\n<p>The seven-time Grand Slam champion is\u00a0reportedly suffering from tenosynovitis \u2014 an inflammation of the tendon sheath in the wrist.<\/p>\n<p>The Spanish superstar missed both Roland Garros and Wimbledon earlier this summer before he pulled out of the Masters 1000 events in Montreal and Cincinnati.<\/p>\n<p>It is unclear whether Alcaraz will be ready to defend his title at the 2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/us-open\">US Open<\/a>, which will get underway on 30 August.<\/p>\n<p>Alcaraz holds an outstanding 22-3 record in 2026, with the former world No 1 having won his first 16 matches of the season before losing to Daniil Medvedev in the Indian Wells semi-finals.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old started the year by winning his first Australian Open title, which made him
