\n\tThe shakeup at Pace Gallery isn\u2019t over. Just two months after the gallery laid off roughly 50 employees in a sweeping restructuring, two of the executives who helped shape Pace during its years of rapid expansion are headed for the exit.<\/p>\n
\n\tAmelia Redgrift, the gallery\u2019s chief communications officer, and Dani Forest Brandi, a senior sales director, have both resigned. Where they\u2019re going remains under wraps. Sources told ARTnews<\/em>, however, that both have already landed senior roles elsewhere in the art and culture world.<\/p>\n \n\tForest offered one clue, saying that her new position will be formally announced in September. \u201cMy time at Pace was invaluable,\u201d she told ARTnews<\/em>. \u201cI joined Pace and had many wonderful years working closely with the Glimchers, their inspirational artists, and innovative team. I look forward to the next chapter of our relationship and bringing that wisdom to my new role.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tTheir departures add another chapter to what\u2019s becoming one of the biggest resets in the gallery\u2019s history. In June, CEO Marc Glimcher dramatically shrank the business, cutting staff across departments and reducing Pace\u2019s artist roster as part of what he described as a necessary correction after years of expansion. Neither Redgrift nor Forest was part of those layoffs.<\/p>\n \n\tIn many ways, the pair arrived together. Redgrift was recruited from Hauser & Wirth in late 2019, just weeks after Pace opened its new Chelsea headquarters. The hire mirrored Glimcher\u2019s ambitions at the time. Pace wasn\u2019t simply growing its footprint\u2014it was trying to reinvent itself. The gallery wanted a stronger editorial voice, a broader public profile, and a brand that felt less like an old-school dealership and more like a cultural institution.<\/p>\n \n\tOver the next six years, Redgrift was instrumental to that strategy. She led the gallery\u2019s communications through the pandemic and oversaw campaigns for projects ranging from the Don Marron collection coup with Gagosian and Acquavella to the multipart partnership with Institut Restellini and the launch of Pace DiDonna Schrader. She worked on the gallery\u2019s expansion into new markets, including Seoul, Tokyo, London, Palm Beach, and East Hampton.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cI feel privileged to have been part of this storied gallery and to have had the opportunity to shape Pace\u2019s evolution with Marc and Sam,\u201d Redgrift told ARTnews<\/em>, referring to Samanthe Rubell, the gallery\u2019s president. \u201cIt has been a very special experience to work closely with Arne and so many wonderful artists and colleagues over the past seven years.\u201d (Marc\u2019s father, Arne Glimcher, is the gallery\u2019s founder and chairman.)<\/p>\n \n\tGlimcher was equally warm about Redgrift\u2019s departure, telling ARTnews<\/em> that she \u201chelped build and define the culture of Pace over her tenure and will be greatly missed.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tForest Brandi\u2019s trajectory was just as notable. Arriving at the gallery after a stint as executive assistant at Marian Goodman gallery, she started as Glimcher\u2019s executive assistant, became his chief of staff, then made the jump into sales, eventually rising to senior sales director.<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cDani has also been a great and dynamic member of Pace\u2019s team and made a strong impact over the last eight years,\u201d Glimcher said. \u201cWe\u2019re excited to continue to work with her in a new capacity which will soon be announced.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tThe two careers often ran in parallel. In 2021, after Pace\u2019s leadership was reshuffled following an investigation into workplace culture, both received major promotions. Redgrift became chief communications and marketing officer, while Forest was elevated to chief of staff as the gallery unveiled a new executive structure. At that time, senior director Samanthe Rubell and Joe Baptista, the gallery\u2019s vice president, were tapped to lead the sales team. Rubell was named president in 2022, while Baptista, who eventually became a partner, left the gallery in 2025 and started the Equivalence Art Agency. Jessie Washburne-Harris, who joined Pace as vice president in 2021, left the gallery in 2025 for White Cube, though she left her post there earlier this month.<\/p>\n \n\tIn 2021, Pace was hiring, opening new locations, experimenting with Web3, launching ambitious public programming, and investing heavily in departments that reached far beyond selling art. Today, the picture looks very different.<\/p>\n \n\tThe communications operation has been drastically reduced following multiple rounds of layoffs, though it\u2019s unclear to what extent.
