On Tuesday (Aug. 11), the bachata superstar announced the launch of\u00a0Fundaci\u00f3n Los Santos, a registered 501(c)(3) organization created to support children with autism and their families through greater access to resources, educational opportunities, developmental programs and community initiatives.<\/p>\n

\n\tWith a personal contribution from Santos, the foundation\u2019s initial efforts will focus on grants, strategic partnerships, family resource centers, social and developmental opportunities for children, and collaborations with schools and community organizations. Additional initiatives are expected to be announced in the coming months.<\/p>\n

\n\t\tLos \u00c1ngeles Azules to Receive L.A. Street Naming Ahead of Hispanic Heritage Month\t<\/h2>\n

\n\tLos \u00c1ngeles Azules\u2019 decades-long cumbia legacy will be celebrated with a new street designation in L.A. On Sept. 14, Los Angeles City Councilmember Imelda Padilla will host a ceremony naming the intersection of Van Nuys Boulevard and Chase Street in Panorama City\u00a0Los \u00c1ngeles Azules Square, honoring the group\u2019s cultural impact ahead of Latino Heritage Month.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt is\u00a0an incredible honor for\u00a0Los\u00a0\u00c1ngeles\u00a0Azules\u00a0to receive this recognition from the City of\u00a0Los\u00a0Angeles,\u201d said the group in a statement. \u201cHaving the iconic corner of Van Nuys Blvd.\u00a0and Chase Street in Panorama\u00a0City bear our name represents much more than\u00a0a\u00a0tribute to our career, it is\u00a0a\u00a0symbol of the\u00a0deep bond we have built over so many years with this city, the Latino community,\u00a0and the families who have made\u00a0our music part of their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThey continued: \u201cWe were proudly born in Iztapalapa\u00a0and have had the immense privilege of seeing our music embraced in so many places\u00a0around the world. Without\u00a0a\u00a0doubt, the City of\u00a0Los\u00a0Angeles\u00a0holds tremendous meaning for us\u00a0and will\u00a0always have\u00a0a\u00a0very special place in our hearts. Here, generations of fans have welcomed us with open\u00a0arms, danced to our cumbia,\u00a0and passed our music down from parents to children, making it part of the cultural history of this great city.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tEladio Carri\u00f3n\u2019s\u00a0Sauce for a Cause Foundation\u00a0is bringing its annual Saucegiving community celebration back to his roots in Humacao, Puerto Rico, on Dec. 6. Now in its sixth year, the free event will combine sports, music and community programming, including a celebrity softball game, Home Run Derby, baseball clinics for hundreds of young people, a dog adoption fair and SauceMarket merchandise.<\/p>\n
