Well, the ‘standard’ car does still get 1,001bhp so we’re not quite sure how you came to that conclusion, but if that wasn’t enough for you… here’s the 1,050bhp Revuelto SV.

Yep, that brilliant graphic on the rear haunch of a big V12 Lambo is back, and this time it has brought with it 1,051lb ft of torque, a top speed of over 214mph and a 0-62mph time of just 2.4 seconds. That’s a tenth quicker than the standard car, you’ll be pleased to hear.

It’s the same setup as before, with the 6.5-litre naturally aspirated 12-cylinder supported by an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox and three electric motors. Two are axial flux on the front axle, one is radial flux and mounted betwixt engine and gearbox. It’s the electric part that supplies the SV with its extra grunt too, with a new and improved battery pack (7.3kWh vs 3.8 on the standard car) allowing the motors to send further reinforcements to the 814bhp combustion engine. You may recognise that – and a few of the other changes we’ll tell you about – from the few-off Fenomeno.

The SV also gets a tweaked exhaust and a new ‘Pilota’ drive mode to make it extra pointy on a circuit. Sounds like the changes have done the business too, because the hotter Revuelto has already set a 1m 41.6s lap record for production cars at the Hockenheimring.

Visual changes include seriously sharp eyelashes under the headlights that stretch down to the new splitter, while round the back there’s a chunky spoiler with double wings at each end. We’re told the aero balance has actually moved further forward though, and in total you’re looking at 80 per cent more downforce than the standard Revuelto. Plenty of carbon addendums too. In fact, Lambo says SVs get “more carbon than any Revuelto”, with up to 25 exterior components available in visible, unpainted form.

“Every element of the car has been developed with a clear performance-driven approach, integrating aerodynamic efficiency, lightweight materials and a more technical, motorsport-inspired character while preserving the purity of the original design,” said erm… design boss Mitja Borkert.

“The new front treatment, the dedicated Super Veloce livery and the extensive use of visible carbon fibre emphasise the car’s wider stance, precision and dramatic presence, while details such as the new centrelock wheels and hexagonal graphic themes express both technical sophistication and Lamborghini’s unmistakable design DNA. The result is a Revuelto that feels sharper, more focused and even more engaging for the driver, both visually and dynamically.”

Spoiler alert, Mitja. Because yes, this is also a Revuelto with 20in front and 21in rear centrelock wheels, while underneath those are fancy new carbon ceramic brakes and manually adjustable passive dampers. We’re promised a 17 per cent increase in agility, 11 per cent higher peak deceleration and 10 per cent more lateral grip. Can someone check on Lambo, because this all feels far too sensible.

Anyway, just 1,963 SVs will be available to customers to celebrate the year of Automobili Lamborghini’s birth, while inside you’re looking at lightweight carbon door panels, carbon seats and access to that new Pilota mode on the steering wheel. That also brings up access to a new five-stage traction control system, while a new ‘6D sensor’ sits in the centre of the car and provides real time measurements of the acceleration on all three axes (lateral, longitudinal and vertical) to a number of different control systems on the car.

“By combining this information with a new intelligent virtual estimation logic, the system gains a deeper understanding of how the vehicle is moving in every driving situation,” reads the info on the SV.

“This enables more precise and responsive braking actions, helping to prevent wheel lock and delivering improved braking performance.”

Is this Lambo going ultra-nerdy on us?
