href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/andy-murray\">Andy Murray<\/a> has joined a growing contingent of tennis greats calling for service lets to be scrapped from the sport.<\/p>\n<p>Since hanging up his racket in the summer of 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/andy-murray\">Murray<\/a> has been able to pursue other interests outside of tennis.<\/p>\n<p>One such hobby is golf, while he has also tried his hand at coaching Novak Djokovic, where they had a short stint together in early 2025, and more recently Jack Draper.<\/p>\n<p>Less than a year before the Scot retired, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/news\/andy-murray-new-padel-team-what-is-padel\">Murray announced the launch of his own Padel franchise<\/a> called \u2018Team AD\/vantage\u2019 and since then he has invested in the business, <span>Game4Padel, too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The 39-year-old has recently been filmed playing the fast-growing sport, which combines some elements of squash and tennis and Indeed, at this year\u2019s Wimbledon, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/martina-navratilova\">Martina Navratilova<\/a> echoed similar sentiments.<\/p>\n<p>During Karolina Muchova\u2019s quarter-final victory over Naomi Osaka, the 18-time Grand Slam women\u2019s singles winner described the service let cord rule as \u201cuseless\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>She said on BBC One, \u201cDo away with that let cord, you know I talk about it all the time. Nobody\u2019s moving forward on that; get rid of it, it\u2019s useless!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, play the let, play the ball, it\u2019s a live ball. Every once in a while, you get that dribbler that would be an ace, but that happens once every three matches, so just play. Most of the lets are just a little nick, keep playing, speed up the game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And seven-time major winner, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/john-mcenroe\">John McEnroe<\/a>, believes if the point carried on from a service let, it would be more exciting.<\/p>\n<p>He said on BBC Radio 5 Live in 2025, \u201cPlay lets, I would play lets. I think that is more exciting, but the top players would not want it because it adds an element of uncertainty and luck.
