Festival after Fugees set was cut short.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>READ MORE: <b>Why \u2018The Score\u2019 is one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever<\/b><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The set came as part of Lauryn Hill\u2018s festival, which was held at the Milton Keynes National Bowl on August 7.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Hill and Wyclef Jean reunited for the event on Friday (August 7) alongside Erykah Badu, Giggs and Hill\u2019s sons YG Marley and Zion Marley \u2013 also the grandchildren of reggae icon Bob Marley.<\/p>\n<p>There was frustration from fans on the night, however, when their set was cut short after they arrived onstage at 10pm BST and the venue had licensing restrictions which prevented it from continuing past 11pm.<\/p>\n<p>At 11pm, the pair attempted to address the crowd, but their microphones were switched off, according to <em>The Sun<\/em>. Soon after, a message appeared on one of the giant on-stage screens which said: \u201cTHANK YOU EVERYONE. We\u2019re sorry for the abrupt finish. As part of our licence we are legally required to finish the show at 11pm and cannot continue beyond this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As well as fans taking to social media to voice their frustrations at the shortened set, the move to cut their set short also frustrated comedian Dave Chappelle, who was hosting the event and introducing acts to the stage throughout the night.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cYou\u2019re f*cking up history. It\u2019s a moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After seemingly being told that the decision was final, Chappelle is seen saying: \u201cMan, y\u2019all fucked up, I\u2019ll never forget this. Tell them, whoever\u2019s in charge\u201d. He also got a few people to chant \u201cLet us close\u201d, before going back to the crew and asking: \u201cSir, who can I talk to?\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-video\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MKCommunityHub\/videos\/1776172280475411\/\" data-app-id=\"3459310834184681\" data-width=\"696\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad2 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-2\" class=\"lazy-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to a setlist, their show was due to go on for two hours with guest appearances from Tiwa Savage, Gunna and Little Simz.<\/p>\n<p><em>NME<\/em> has contacted a representative of Diaspora Calling! for comment, but did not immediately hear back.<\/p>\n<p>About the abrupt end to the show, Wyclef Jean told <em>The Sun<\/em>: \u201cWe\u2019re really sad how it ended. We was just getting started, so we\u2019re hoping to continue next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cWe had so much surprises on the line up and everybody showed up and we really felt the crowd, that love and that energy, it\u2019s something that they need, something they feel, it just reminds you of unity. They did briefly reform between 2004 and 2006, and then reunited for a tour to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their second album, \u2018The Score\u2019, in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>However, just before their 2024 US tour, the Fugees called off their scheduled dates, with Pras suing Lauryn Hill for fraud shortly afterwards. Hill and Jean, meanwhile, have gone on to perform together on a number of occasions. Festival after Fugees set was cut short.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>READ MORE: <b>Why \u2018The Score\u2019 is one of the greatest hip-hop albums ever<\/b><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The set came as part of Lauryn Hill\u2018s festival, which was held at the Milton Keynes National Bowl on August 7.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Hill and Wyclef Jean reunited for the event on Friday (August 7) alongside Erykah Badu, Giggs and Hill\u2019s sons YG Marley and Zion Marley \u2013 also the grandchildren of reggae icon Bob Marley.<\/p>\n<p>There was frustration from fans on the night, however, when their set was cut short after they arrived onstage at 10pm BST and the venue had licensing restrictions which prevented it from continuing past 11pm.<\/p>\n<p>At 11pm, the pair attempted to address the crowd, but their microphones were switched off, according to <em>The Sun<\/em>. Soon after, a message appeared on one of the giant on-stage screens which said: \u201cTHANK YOU EVERYONE. We\u2019re sorry for the abrupt finish. As part of our licence we are legally required to finish the show at 11pm and cannot continue beyond this time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As well as fans taking to social media to voice their frustrations at the shortened set, the move to cut their set short also frustrated comedian Dave Chappelle, who was hosting the event and introducing acts to the stage throughout the night.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cYou\u2019re f*cking up history. It\u2019s a moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After seemingly being told that the decision was final, Chappelle is seen saying: \u201cMan, y\u2019all fucked up, I\u2019ll never forget this. Tell them, whoever\u2019s in charge\u201d. He also got a few people to chant \u201cLet us close\u201d, before going back to the crew and asking: \u201cSir, who can I talk to?\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"fb-video\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MKCommunityHub\/videos\/1776172280475411\/\" data-app-id=\"3459310834184681\" data-width=\"696\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad2 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-2\" class=\"lazy-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to a setlist, their show was due to go on for two hours with guest appearances from Tiwa Savage, Gunna and Little Simz.<\/p>\n<p><em>NME<\/em> has contacted a representative of Diaspora Calling! for comment, but did not immediately hear back.<\/p>\n<p>About the abrupt end to the show, Wyclef Jean told <em>The Sun<\/em>: \u201cWe\u2019re really sad how it ended. We was just getting started, so we\u2019re hoping to continue next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cWe had so much surprises on the line up and everybody showed up and we really felt the crowd, that love and that energy, it\u2019s something that they need, something they feel, it just reminds you of unity. Hill and Jean, meanwhile, have gone on to perform together on a number of occasions.
