As well as a set from Bj\u00f6rk, the event also featured DJ sets and performances from\u00a0Arca,\u00a0Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, 33EMYBW,\u00a0Sideproject\u00a0and Ronja\u00a0J\u00f3hannsd\u00f3ttir.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Arca\u2019s performance included the moment of \u201ctotality\u201d at approximately 5:48pm local time, with the moon entirely obscuring the sun and plunging the site into darkness for just over a minute. Bj\u00f6rk then took to the stage at 5:50pm and played for an hour, until the eclipse came to an end.<\/p>\n<p>She wore a balloon-like outfit and danced behind the decks, playing tracks including Marina Herlop\u2019s \u2018Jaque\u2019, Safety Trance and Arca\u2019s \u2018El Alma\u00a0Que\u00a0Te\u00a0Trajo\u2019,\u00a0Kelela\u2018s \u2018If We Meet Again\u2019 and\u00a0Machine Girl\u2018s \u2018Down\u00a0To\u00a0The\u00a0Essence (Mun Sing Remix)\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>She also played Conrad Taylor\u2019s remix of \u2018Berghain\u2018, her collaboration with\u00a0Rosal\u00eda\u00a0and\u00a0Yves Tumor. event was held within the narrow path where the moon entirely covered the sun, marking the first total solar eclipse visible in Iceland since 1954.<\/p>\n<p>It also shared its name with\u00a0Bj\u00f6rk\u2019s ongoing Echolalia exhibition at the National Gallery of Iceland, a show that presents three large-scale audiovisual installations. Two reimagine \u2018Ancestress\u2019 and \u2018Sorrowful Soil\u2019 from her 2022 album \u2018Fossora\u2018 \u2013 both composed in memory of her late mother \u2013 while the third offers a preview of the unreleased track \u2018Nerve Bloom\u2019, which is expected to appear on her next album, due in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year,\u00a0Bj\u00f6rk joined Rosal\u00eda to perform \u2018Berghain\u2019 at the 2026 BRIT Awards. She has also\u00a0shared the concert film from her \u2018Cornucopia\u2019\u00a0tour, and\u00a0is\u00a0contributing music to the forthcoming sci-fi multiplayer game\u00a0<i>SEED<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to\u00a0<i>NME<\/i>\u00a0in 2022 about her relationship with Iceland and nightlife, she said: \u201cI\u2019m not really an urban person. I love visiting cities and going clubbing or seeing a gallery or concert, but then I just want to go home. one-day Echolalia festival took place yesterday (August 12) at V\u00ed\u00f0ista\u00f0at\u00fan in Hafnarfj\u00f6r\u00f0ur, just outside the country\u2019s capital city of Reykjavik. As well as a set from Bj\u00f6rk, the event also featured DJ sets and performances from\u00a0Arca,\u00a0Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, 33EMYBW,\u00a0Sideproject\u00a0and Ronja\u00a0J\u00f3hannsd\u00f3ttir.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Arca\u2019s performance included the moment of \u201ctotality\u201d at approximately 5:48pm local time, with the moon entirely obscuring the sun and plunging the site into darkness for just over a minute. Bj\u00f6rk then took to the stage at 5:50pm and played for an hour, until the eclipse came to an end.<\/p>\n<p>She wore a balloon-like outfit and danced behind the decks, playing tracks including Marina Herlop\u2019s \u2018Jaque\u2019, Safety Trance and Arca\u2019s \u2018El Alma\u00a0Que\u00a0Te\u00a0Trajo\u2019,\u00a0Kelela\u2018s \u2018If We Meet Again\u2019 and\u00a0Machine Girl\u2018s \u2018Down\u00a0To\u00a0The\u00a0Essence (Mun Sing Remix)\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>She also played Conrad Taylor\u2019s remix of \u2018Berghain\u2018, her collaboration with\u00a0Rosal\u00eda\u00a0and\u00a0Yves Tumor. with\u00a0Bj\u00f6rk\u2019s ongoing Echolalia exhibition at the National Gallery of Iceland, a show that presents three large-scale audiovisual installations. Two reimagine \u2018Ancestress\u2019 and \u2018Sorrowful Soil\u2019 from her 2022 album \u2018Fossora\u2018 \u2013 both composed in memory of her late mother \u2013 while the third offers a preview of the unreleased track \u2018Nerve Bloom\u2019, which is expected to appear on her next album, due in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year,\u00a0Bj\u00f6rk joined Rosal\u00eda to perform \u2018Berghain\u2019 at the 2026 BRIT Awards. She has also\u00a0shared the concert film from her \u2018Cornucopia\u2019\u00a0tour, and\u00a0is\u00a0contributing music to the forthcoming sci-fi multiplayer game\u00a0<i>SEED<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to\u00a0<i>NME<\/i>\u00a0in 2022 about her relationship with Iceland and nightlife, she said: \u201cI\u2019m not really an urban person. I love visiting cities and going clubbing or seeing a gallery or concert, but then I just want to go home.
