I would do things differently if I had my time again,\u201d he explains in the prepared release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tA confidential agreement is now in place to bring to an end the dispute.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cLooking back on the latter half of the time when I was managing Guy\u2019s career,\u201d Day\u2019s message continues, \u201cI can see that I had become a poor steward of Guy\u2019s income, including income that my company continued to receive after Guy left my management company in 2017.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSebastian, a multiple ARIA Award winner and chart-topper in his homeland, wants to put it all behind him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI know this impacted a lot of people around me, but I believed it was something I couldn\u2019t walk away from,\u201d Sebastian comments in his own statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cI never could have imagined the twists and turns this ordeal would take. With the accountability shown and the apology Mr Day has provided in his statement, I am prepared to put aside my claim against him, forgive, and move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThose twists and turns included multiple trials, acquittals, and a\u00a0hung jury\u00a0on the majority of charges after a second trial. Now, it\u2019s all over.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tDay had served as Sebastian\u2019s manager for eleven-and-a-half years, until the relationship ended in a financial dispute. Sebastian then launched legal action to try to recoup what he claimed was hundreds of thousands of dollars owed in performance fees and royalties.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tLater, in 2022, Day was sentenced to four years in prison for embezzling A$600,000, before his convictions were quashed on appeal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAccording to a separate statement from Sebastian\u2019s lawyer, Mark Faraday, a \u201ccompromise\u201d was reached in respect of the artist\u2019s \u201csignificant\u201d Federal Court claim.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tDay\u2019s own statement \u201cspeaks for itself,\u201d he continues. \u201cIt contains a clear apology, an acceptance of responsibility and an acknowledgement that payments owed to Guy were not passed on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOne of the most popular Australian pop artists of his generation, Sebastian got his break as the winner of the first season of <em>Australian Idol<\/em> back in 2003. He can\u2019t stop winning.
