Imagine these men are actually characters in a film \u2014 one filled with hyperkinetic smash cuts to action sequences in which they\u2019re fighting or running from armed goons. This movie might be the sort of feature you\u2019d expect from directors like Edgar Wright or Guy Ritchie. But all of this actually comes from <em>Cully Hill Boys<\/em>, the latest project from the AI filmmaking platform Higgsfield.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--article-body-component\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\"><em>Cully Hill Boys <\/em>is one of the few <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/948425\/tribeca-2026-dear-upstairs-neighbors-google-deepmind-openai\">AI movies out this year<\/a> that comes anywhere near close to looking and feeling like a traditionally produced feature. A large part of the movie\u2019s strength is almost certainly rooted in how much Wright and Ritchie\u2019s style has been baked into it, and it\u2019s not just visual inspiration. In addition to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=h_qQ0aKyXEA\">posting <em>Cully Hill Boys <\/em>online<\/a>, Higgsfield published many of the prompts that were used to make it. Several of those prompts mention Wright and Ritchie by name, which, along with a script written by a real screenwriter, underlines how the best parts of these films are undeniably taken from actual human artists.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--article-body-component\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\"><em>Cully Hill Boys <\/em>tells the story of three struggling rappers from East London whose lives are turned upside down when they accidentally steal a crime lord\u2019s money. The project is codirected by Adilet Abish and Aitore Zholdaskali \u2014 who also helmed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.decodingeverything.com\/cannes-2026-dispatch-2-paper-tiger-her-private-hell-hope-review\/\">Higgsfield\u2019s <em>Hell Grind<\/em><\/a> feature \u2014 and is based on a script that was initially written by Tim Planagan before it landed on <a href=\"https:\/\/theplaylist.net\/20-best-worst-films-made-from-black-list-scripts-20140410\/\">the Black List screenplay submission service<\/a> for unproduced projects. After acquiring the script\u2019s AI production rights, Higgsfield tapped streamer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/n3onsingh\/\">Mikyle \u201cN3on\u201d Rafiq<\/a>, basketball content creator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/mkiatipis\/?hl=en\">Matt Kiatipis<\/a>, and UFC fighter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/stylebender\/?hl=en\">Israel Adesanya<\/a> to \u201cstar\u201d as its leads. Though none of <em>Cully Hill Boys<\/em>\u2019 actors shot any scenes on set, each of them signed licensing agreements with Higgsfield for their likenesses to be used in the project. And while Planagan gave Higgsfield the ability to adapt this story using generative AI, he still retains the rights necessary for it to be produced traditionally.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--block-placement _1xorkac3 _1xorkac0 duet--article--article-body-component\">\n<div class=\"ejz0tzd\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--article-body-component\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Rather than trying to release <em>Cully Hill Boys <\/em>in theaters, Higgsfield \u2014 another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/974018\/pippa-seedance-artist-royalties\">service that sells access to various AI models<\/a> \u2014 uploaded the film and most of its constituent prompts online in order to showcase what\u2019s possible with its <a href=\"https:\/\/higgsfield.ai\/cinematic-video-generator\">Cinema Studio suite of AI filmmaking tools<\/a>. The film also functions as a gigantic ad for Higgsfield\u2019s newly added Seedance 2.5 functionality, and to highlight new ways that studios can collaborate with digital creators.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--article-body-component\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">What\u2019s most striking about <em>Cully Hill Boys <\/em>as you begin to watch it is the way its story moves much in the same way most direct-to-video action \/ comedies usually do. We\u2019re introduced to Cal (Kiatipis), Horace (Rafiq), and Oli (Adesanya) as a trio of longtime friends who just can\u2019t figure out how to realize their dreams of becoming well-known musicians. After establishing the boys\u2019 interpersonal dynamics, the film zooms out to show us more about who they are individually. Oli\u2019s mom insists that he gets a real job, Cal\u2019s ex doesn\u2019t believe he can be a good father to their daughter, and Horace doesn\u2019t have a lot going on outside of being the group\u2019s designated driver. <em>Cully Hill Boys <\/em>establishes all of these details in its first few minutes with a series of scenes that flow together with a tonal and visual smoothness that you seldom see from AI films regardless of their length.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--block-placement _1xorkac1 _1xorkac0 duet--article--article-body-component\">\n<div class=\"duet--article--article-pullquote c39lj10\">\n<div class=\"c39lj11\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup c39lj12 _19wv7tc9\"><em>Cully Hill Boys\u2019<\/em> story was crafted by a human with an understanding of proper pacing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--article-body-component\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Some of that likely boils down to the way that Seedance 2.5 is capable of churning out much longer (about 30 seconds) clips than other video generation models. With films created with AI video models that only generate a few seconds of footage at a time, you can usually see and hear exactly when clips have been stitched together as a way to work around the technology\u2019s limitations. There\u2019s a clear logic to characters\u2019 dialog, and the avatars have a passable emotiveness that speaks to how Higgsfield created them using photos and audio clips provided by real people. Anthropic\u2019s Claude was used to come up with prompts, which were sent to Seedance 2.5 to create video and speech, while ByteDance\u2019s Seedream and Google\u2019s Nano Banana were used for image and video editing. Per the website, <em>Cully Hill Boys<\/em>\u2019 creative leads had to split their workflow across different models \u201cbecause the rules of one job poison the other.\u201d That meant, for example, one instance of Claude had to be focused solely on churning out prompts with wording specifically designed to generate workable images while another was dedicated to doing the same for prompts that would eventually become videos clips.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--article-body-component\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Similar to how <em>Cully Hill Boys <\/em>as a whole feels like an ad for Higgsfield as one of the many AI filmmaking platforms out there, the company\u2019s transparency about how the film was made comes across as a way to highlight all of the models it gives its users access to. Reading the text prompts \u2014 most of which were in English, while some were in Simplified Chinese \u2014 you can see how detailed their descriptions are. But when you compare specific prompts to their corresponding scenes in the full movie, it becomes clear that these models aren\u2019t just whipping up impressive shots and camera movements out of thin air. The prompts didn\u2019t contain explicit directions to mimic any specific one of Wright or Ritchie films, but they did include asks for \u201cGUY RITCHIE COVERAGE\u201d and \u201cDYNAMIC clip-style (Edgar Wright snap.)\u201d It\u2019s not unusual for traditional directors to pay homage by replicating one another\u2019s signature filmmaking techniques. But <em>Cully Hill Boys<\/em>\u2019 is a different sort of beast because its production process seemingly hinges on its underlying AI models having first been trained on Wright and Ritchie\u2019s IP in order to understand when they\u2019re being asked to generate similar footage.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--article-body-component\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _18mzr4ba _19wv7tc1\">As impressive as <em>Cully Hill Boys <\/em>is compared to other AI movies, it feels more like a (mostly) polished proof of concept than a project that\u2019s ready for the mainstream spotlight. Rafiq, Kiatipis, and Adesanya\u2019s fans might get a kick out of seeing their faves in a feature-length production, but this probably isn\u2019t something that most moviegoers would be keen to watch.
