It will comprise tracks from The Fall,\u00a0Aztec Camera,\u00a0Mazzy Star,\u00a0Scritti Politti,\u00a0Robert Wyatt and more, and the boxset will be\u00a0limited to just 1000 copes, released\u00a0on\u00a0October 30. Pre-order\u00a0here.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Among them is a new release from The Smiths, with \u2018The Headmaster Ritual\u2019 on the A-side, and \u2018I Want\u00a0The\u00a0One I Can\u2019t Have\u2019 on the\u00a0flip side. Both songs originally appeared on the band\u2019s second album \u2018Meat Is Murder\u2019 in 1985, but they were never released as a single\u00a0on Rough Trade.<\/p>\n<p>Now, they will\u00a0be available as a single for the first time, with Morrissey and Marr both requesting the two\u00a0tracks.<\/p>\n<p>Morrissey has also overseen the creation of the new artwork, choosing a 1939 image of the American actor Billy Halop. They released all four studio albums on the label, before splitting in 1987.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad2 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-2\" class=\"lazy-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Morrissey and Marr have been publicly feuding in recent years, with the guitarist repeatedly distancing himself from Morrissey\u2019s politics. In 2019,\u00a0Marr told\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>that \u201cI don\u2019t think you can change history\u201d\u00a0and said the singer\u2019s support for the far-right party For Britain had \u201cnothing to do with my world or my life\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024,\u00a0Morrissey said Marr had \u201cignored\u201d a lucrative offer for a Smiths reunion tour in 2025, which he himself had accepted.\u00a0Marr responded: \u201cI didn\u2019t ignore the offer \u2013 I said no.\u201d He later said, \u201cI\u2019m not an idiot, the vibe\u2019s not right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Morrissey has also claimed that\u00a0Marr blocked a greatest hits album and had taken sole control of The Smiths\u2019 name, potentially allowing him to tour with another\u00a0frontman. Marr\u2019s team rejected the claims, saying\u00a0he had registered the trademark to stop a third party from using it\u00a0and\u00a0stating\u00a0that Morrissey had not responded to his approach.<\/p>\n<p>Morrissey also expressed his desire to sell his business interests in The Smiths last\u00a0year, and\u00a0recently\u00a0accused Marr of intentionally dividing the band\u2019s fanbase, claiming the guitarist had \u201cdevoted his entire life to killing Morrissey in whatever way available\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The singer\u00a0cancelled a four-show Las Vegas residency last week, citing \u201cunforeseen logistical challenges\u201d, and is set to play Riot Fest in Chicago next month. Marr, meanwhile, will\u00a0release his fifth solo album \u2018The Age\u00a0Of\u00a0Everything\u2018\u00a0on\u00a0October 2.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"td_block_wrap tdb_single_tags tdi_87 It will comprise tracks from The Fall,\u00a0Aztec Camera,\u00a0Mazzy Star,\u00a0Scritti Politti,\u00a0Robert Wyatt and more, and the boxset will be\u00a0limited to just 1000 copes, released\u00a0on\u00a0October 30. Both songs originally appeared on the band\u2019s second album \u2018Meat Is Murder\u2019 in 1985, but they were never released as a single\u00a0on Rough Trade.<\/p>\n<p>Now, they will\u00a0be available as a single for the first time, with Morrissey and Marr both requesting the two\u00a0tracks.<\/p>\n<p>Morrissey has also overseen the creation of the new artwork, choosing a 1939 image of the American actor Billy Halop. In 2019,\u00a0Marr told\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>that \u201cI don\u2019t think you can change history\u201d\u00a0and said the singer\u2019s support for the far-right party For Britain had \u201cnothing to do with my world or my life\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024,\u00a0Morrissey said Marr had \u201cignored\u201d a lucrative offer for a Smiths reunion tour in 2025, which he himself had accepted.\u00a0Marr responded: \u201cI didn\u2019t ignore the offer \u2013 I said no.\u201d He later said, \u201cI\u2019m not an idiot, the vibe\u2019s not right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Morrissey has also claimed that\u00a0Marr blocked a greatest hits album and had taken sole control of The Smiths\u2019 name, potentially allowing him to tour with another\u00a0frontman. Marr\u2019s team rejected the claims, saying\u00a0he had registered the trademark to stop a third party from using it\u00a0and\u00a0stating\u00a0that Morrissey had not responded to his approach.<\/p>\n<p>Morrissey also expressed his desire to sell his business interests in The Smiths last\u00a0year, and\u00a0recently\u00a0accused Marr of intentionally dividing the band\u2019s fanbase, claiming the guitarist had \u201cdevoted his entire life to killing Morrissey in whatever way available\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The singer\u00a0cancelled a four-show Las Vegas residency last week, citing \u201cunforeseen logistical challenges\u201d, and is set to play Riot Fest in Chicago next month.
