\n\tThe Roc appeared to be responding to Ray Daniels\u2019 claims made on a recent episode of the producer\u2019s Ray Daniels Presents<\/em> podcast. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHis album is done,\u201d Daniels confidently stated of Hov\u2019s 4:44<\/em> follow-up. \u201cIt\u2019s completely done. We might get it if somebody partners with him. If nobody partners with him, it\u2019s not coming. He is not playing about his brand. Somebody called and confirmed it for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile Daniels never worked for Roc-A-Fella, he\u2019s held prominent executive positions at Warner, Universal, Interscope and Epic Records throughout his career. He previously had Roc-A-Fella co-founder Dame Dash and Roc affiliate Choke No Joke as guests on his The GAUDS Show<\/em>. <\/p>\n

\n\tFans had been hopeful to receive Jay\u2019s first solo album since 2017, with Jay back outside this year. The Brooklyn rap legend returned to the stage in May at Roots Picnic and then headlined three straight nights at Yankee Stadium in July. <\/p>\n

\n\tJay\u2019s 30th anniversary of his Reasonable Doubt <\/em>debut will continue with shows in London (Sept. 4-5), Paris (Sept. 10) and Los Angeles (Oct. 23-24) for the rest of the year.<\/p>\n

\n\tDuring a March interview with GQ<\/em>, where he declared 2026 to be \u201call offense,\u201d Hov outlined what a possible album would look like for him. \u201cForget the landscape of music. I don\u2019t know what\u00a0I\u00a0need to create currently that\u2019s going to fulfill me and make me happy because that\u2019s most important,\u201d he said. \u201cI know I just got to be honest about what I feel and where I am. Maybe I\u2019m overthinking it. Maybe I\u2019m stopping myself from just creating.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJay went on: \u201cWhatever it is, it just needs to be a true representation of how I feel. Trying to create something that people like is where I think a lot of artists get jammed up. And people can feel that because it\u2019s not authentic. I just got to make something timeless that I really love and that\u2019s really honest and true to who I am.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tJay-Z delivered his first new verse since 2022 when he hopped on Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s \u201cMorning Dew (Donk) Remix Pack\u201d earlier in August. Jay\u2019s last solo album, 4:44,<\/em> arrived in June 2017 and debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 262,000 total album-equivalent units earned.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
