I know you\u2019re probably on your way, but we\u2019re not going to get you tonight. Maybe Thursday? Maybe Friday? I don\u2019t know. Bye<\/em>!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The musician and actor, who played Steve Harington in the hit Netflix show, has spoken about his love of Charli XCX before, and told <em>NME<\/em> back in 2024 about why he admires her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel like what she\u2019s really good at is writing a song that is really about a specific thing,\u201d he explained. \u201cA great example is this song from [\u20182022\u2019s \u2018Crash\u2019] called \u2018Yuck\u2019. It\u2019s a great song about such a funny thing: her being over-stifled by a romantic partner, a boy who\u2019s really obsessed with her. I feel like that\u2019s such a cool concept for a song and she just nails it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I feel like she does that pretty consistently with a lot of her music,\u201d he added. \u201cI also love the production of her songs. I just think she\u2019s really cool and doing her own thing and not afraid to be herself. The singer also headlined the event and broke out numerous new songs from her recently released album \u2018Music, Fashion, Film\u2019, as well as fan favourites from \u2018Brat\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>She also made a surprise appearance during The Strokes\u2018 set at the festival too, joining Julian Casablancas and co. to play \u2018Take It Or Leave It\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Before then, Charli recorded an intimate live performance from Maida Vale, performed her first full headline show of the \u2018Music, Fashion, Film\u2019 era at Lollapalooza, and also joined Lorde on stage at the Chicago festival for \u2018Girl, So Confusing\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>She is set to make her headline debut appearance at Reading &amp; Leeds later this month before kicking off a North American arena tour with Underscores in September. I know you\u2019re probably on your way, but we\u2019re not going to get you tonight. Maybe Thursday? Maybe Friday? I don\u2019t know. Bye<\/em>!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The musician and actor, who played Steve Harington in the hit Netflix show, has spoken about his love of Charli XCX before, and told <em>NME<\/em> back in 2024 about why he admires her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel like what she\u2019s really good at is writing a song that is really about a specific thing,\u201d he explained. \u201cA great example is this song from [\u20182022\u2019s \u2018Crash\u2019] called \u2018Yuck\u2019. It\u2019s a great song about such a funny thing: her being over-stifled by a romantic partner, a boy who\u2019s really obsessed with her. I feel like that\u2019s such a cool concept for a song and she just nails it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I feel like she does that pretty consistently with a lot of her music,\u201d he added. \u201cI also love the production of her songs. I just think she\u2019s really cool and doing her own thing and not afraid to be herself. The singer also headlined the event and broke out numerous new songs from her recently released album \u2018Music, Fashion, Film\u2019, as well as fan favourites from \u2018Brat\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>She also made a surprise appearance during The Strokes\u2018 set at the festival too, joining Julian Casablancas and co. to play \u2018Take It Or Leave It\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Before then, Charli recorded an intimate live performance from Maida Vale, performed her first full headline show of the \u2018Music, Fashion, Film\u2019 era at Lollapalooza, and also joined Lorde on stage at the Chicago festival for \u2018Girl, So Confusing\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>She is set to make her headline debut appearance at Reading &amp; Leeds later this month before kicking off a North American arena tour with Underscores in September.
