Like, it\u2019s ruined my life. Sometimes I\u2019ve been rock-bottom depressed because of music. And I\u2019m like, it\u2019s just songs, though? You\u2019ve got a fucking roof over your head!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Taylor also spoke to\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>at the Ivor Novello Awards in May, saying she plans to \u201ctake a few months off to have a think\u201d\u00a0after the summer as she\u00a0is in\u00a0\u201cneed of a bit of a breather\u201d.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad2 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-2\" class=\"lazy-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve got an idea about what my next record is [going to be like],\u201d she said. \u201cBut if you\u2019re not careful, it\u2019s you giving more and more in an industry that will take more and more if you let it. So I\u2019m making myself stop so I can have a think and I can make some better art for it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Self Esteem will\u00a0open for Florence + The Machine\u00a0for a show in Edinburgh\u00a0on \u2013 real name Rebecca Lucy Taylor \u2013\u00a0has been increasingly pivoting from music to acting in recent years, after stints in the West End in\u00a0<i>Cabaret\u00a0<\/i>in 2023 and\u00a0David Hare\u2019s\u00a0<i>Teeth \u2018n\u2019 Smiles\u00a0<\/i>earlier this year.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Now, it has been confirmed\u00a0by\u00a0<i>BBC Wales<\/i> that she will appear alongside Peter Mullan, Iwan Rheon and Seth Isaac Thomas in\u00a0<i>Mountain<\/i>, which will be directed by Welsh actor and filmmaker Celyn Jones.\u00a0Bill Ryder-Jones\u00a0has also composed the film\u2019s original soundtrack.<\/p>\n<p>The film will follow Thomas\u2019 young boy who is growing up in North Wales in the \u201980s and looking for friendship and a sense of community. Like, it\u2019s ruined my life. Sometimes I\u2019ve been rock-bottom depressed because of music. And I\u2019m like, it\u2019s just songs, though? You\u2019ve got a fucking roof over your head!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Taylor also spoke to\u00a0<i>NME\u00a0<\/i>at the Ivor Novello Awards in May, saying she plans to \u201ctake a few months off to have a think\u201d\u00a0after the summer as she\u00a0is in\u00a0\u201cneed of a bit of a breather\u201d.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad2 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-2\" class=\"lazy-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve got an idea about what my next record is [going to be like],\u201d she said. \u201cBut if you\u2019re not careful, it\u2019s you giving more and more in an industry that will take more and more if you let it.
