\n\tBillboard <\/em>has reached out to KATSEYE\u2019s reps for comment. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe news will strike a familiar chord with EYEKONS, who have been waiting through the absence of member Manon since February. That month, HYBE announced that she would be taking a hiatus from the group \u201cto focus on her health and well-being\u201d; six months later, fans still haven\u2019t received an update about when the Swiss performer will return.<\/p>\n

\n\tFollowing Friday\u2019s announcement, Sophia personally addressed EYEKONS with a message of her own on her Instagram Story. \u201cIt truly breaks my heart to have to miss out on a lot,\u201d she wrote. \u201cMaking this decision wasn\u2019t easy, but I\u2019m learning that health has to come first. I\u2019m realizing that if I don\u2019t take care of my mind and body now, I won\u2019t be able to keep doing what I love the most for so long.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThanking fans for being \u201cso patient, understanding and always showing [her] so much love,\u201d the New York native added that she promises to \u201cwork as hard as [she] can to get through this, heal properly and come back stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIt\u2019s been a hectic time for KATSEYE, particularly in the months since Manon took her leave. In April, the active members announced that their new EP, Wild, <\/em>would arrive on Aug. 14, featuring singles \u201cPinky Up,\u201d which debuted at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100, and \u201cAnimal,\u201d which recently entered the chart at No. 24. The group\u2019s schedule has also featured memorable performances at Coachella and Gov Ball, as well as the rollout of KATSEYE\u2019s Wild Hearts <\/em>film, and in early September, the band \u2014 also comprised of Lara Raj, Daniela Avanzini, Yoonchae Jeung and Megan Skiendiel \u2014 will embark on a global tour.<\/p>\n

\n\tSophia has been one of the most vocal members of KATSEYE in terms of supporting Manon\u2019s decision to step back over the past few months. \u201cBecause we did announce that it is about her well-being, it\u2019s not our place or anybody else\u2019s place to rush her,\u201d she told Allure<\/em> in June of Manon. \u201cWe want to give her all the time that she needs, all the space that she needs, and so we don\u2019t want to make any assumptions, set anything in stone \u2026 She really deserves that, and the door is always open.\u201d<\/p>\n
