\n\tKarol G\u2019s highly-anticipated new album is a complete mood shift from her uplifting and vibrant Tropicoqueta<\/em> set released in 2025. On the 14-track project, which translates to \u201cI don\u2019t regret feeling so much,\u201d the Colombian singer unlocks a new intimate and stripped-down era where she\u2019s vulnerable, in her feels and embracing all of her emotions. For her sixth studio album, she reeled in notable collaborators including with Drake on \u201cAh\u00ed,\u201d Bruno Mars on \u201cStill,\u201d Judeline and Rusowsky on \u201cBby Wow\u201d and Greg Gonzalez of Cigarettes After Sex on album closer \u201cDespu\u00e9s de Ti.\u201d The set is also home to the provocative perreo \u201cMatadora,\u201d which debuted at No. 3 on the Hot Latin Songs chart dated Aug. 8. \u2014 JESSICA ROIZ<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tInspired by the concept of time \u2014 particularly, it passing you by as you enter your 30s \u2014 Role Model\u2019s latest project is full of musings on marriage (\u201cThe Wedding\u201d), the power of a positive attitude (\u201cHigh Hopes,\u201d \u201cJoy\u201d) and continuing to trust in the process through it all (\u201cHarmony\u201d). The album builds on the harmonies and introspective songwriting that that Role Model honed on his second album, 2024\u2019s Kansas Anymore<\/em> \u2014 and while that album\u2019s deluxe included his breakout smash, \u201cSally, When the Wine Runs Out,\u201d he\u2019s not aiming for a follow-up hit here (or, if he is, he\u2019s rather subtle about it). Rather, the album feels like a fully-realized snapshot of where he\u2019s at in life right now<\/em>, and for anyone about to enter or already in the throes of their third decade here, you\u2019ll be nodding along to more than just the beat of these 12 songs. \u2014 LYNDSEY HAVENS<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tHow do you follow\u00a0up\u00a0a Grammy-nominated debut album that solidified your trio as the buzziest R&B girl group in years on both sides of the pond? With an album like\u00a0Therapy at the Club<\/em>.\u00a0FLO\u2019s\u00a0swanky sophomore effort\u00a0finds the British three-piece of Ren\u00e9e, Stella and Jorja expanding their late \u201890s-early \u201800s\u00a0R&B\u00a0foundation with notes of\u00a0\u201880s synth pop and\u00a0features from Juicy J and\u00a0kwn. There are a few more weeks to live out the ideal messy party night this summer, and FLO just dropped the\u00a0perfect soundtrack. \u2014\u00a0KYLE DENIS<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n
THIS & THAT<\/em> is Stray Kids tenth mini album and, as its title suggests, the famed South Korean boy band delivers a little bit of everything across its eight tracks. The title song in particular is a standout for its hard-hitting, booming beat that carries the earned yet boastful lyrics about how \u201cEverything I do, multiply it by two.\u201d That applies to the group\u2019s work ethic as well, with Hyunjin and\u00a0Bang Chan stating on the chorus: \u201cI\u2019ma rip a show and then hit the studio\/ I do this and that, this and that.\u201d Elsewhere, Stray Kids explores dance-pop on \u201cAfter You,\u201d showcases its softer-side on \u201cWay Out\u201d and delivers a riff-driven alt-pop gem with \u201cBack Then.\u201d Here, a little bit of everything sure sounds good. \u2014 L.H.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tAs soaring singer-songwriter Sam Smith continues to tease his upcoming fifth album, Hazel Eyes<\/em> (out Aug. 21), his latest single offers a glimpse into the direction he\u2019s headed \u2014 and it\u2019s perfectly haunting. \u201cWhen He\u2019s Gone\u201d spotlights Smith\u2019s lower register in a gorgeous and enticing manner, as he sings of the downfall of a relationship \u2014 and how it feels to be the one holding on. \u201cWhen he\u2019s walking out on me\/ He takes everything I need\/ My whole world\u2019s broken when he\u2019s gone,\u201d he sings over a Western-inspired plucked guitar and the harmony of a cautionary choir willing him to let go. Yet, by the song\u2019s end, it seems he isn\u2019t ready just yet, singing: \u201cIf he stays with me tonight, I promise I\u2019ll be better.\u201d \u2014 L.H.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tFresh off a packed performance at Chicago\u2019s Lollapalooza and as her breakout smash \u201cBoston\u201d continues to hold strong on the charts, rising country-pop artist Stella Lefty\u2019s latest is an ode to first kiss butterflies \u2014 specifically, the kind that come with taking a friendship to new territory. Or, in Stella\u2019s case here, simply suggesting to. \u201cIt\u2019s just another Friday night\/ Was bound to happen one of these times,\u201d she sings before asking, \u201cTell me if I spoke too soon\/ But I kinda want you in my room\/ Do I make you wanna make a move?\u201d And while the song ends before she gets her answer, for those plugged into her real life relationship with Vincent Mason, it seems like things worked out just fine. \u2014 L.H.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n\tAs Alex Warren continues to tease his upcoming second album, Wildchild<\/em> (out Aug. 28), his singles seem to fall into two camps: there\u2019s the high-energy \u201cFever Dream\u201d and uptempo \u201cPassenger\u201d and then the more contemplative, downtempo \u201cFine Place To Die\u201d and latest release \u201cRescuer.\u201d The lattermost sounds and feels like a close cousin to his breakout mega-hit \u201cOrdinary,\u201d with a familiar riff and similar subject matter. Only here, instead of remarking on how his love takes him out of the ordinary, he reckons with wanting to stay in that bliss: \u201cOut of exile, into your hands\/ Your arms are my promised land.\u201d \u2013 L.H.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
