\n\tWhen asked about her latest album, A-Pop<\/em>, Tyla said the project mixes many musical genres that she personally loves and impacted her decision to become a singer. She explains that African music, R&B, pop and house music were the main musical influences on the project, emphasizing all of the elements that turned her sound into something that feels true to her identity.<\/p>\n

\n\tShe also looked back on the explosive success of her smash hit \u201cWater,\u201d which peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2024, catapulting her to global stardom practically overnight. Tyla admitted the song\u2019s rapid rise took time to adjust to, saying she was shocked by the fame because it was foreign to her.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI come from a very simple life. I was not a rich kid,\u201d the singer said. \u201cThere was no example for me, really. Not a lot of people do what I did from where I\u2019m from.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tElsewhere in the conversation, Tyla recalled how her FIFA World Cup song \u201cGame Time\u201d featuring Future came together. She said she first met the rapper while attending last year\u2019s Met Gala, and the collaboration materialized when the song was sent to both of them for the FIFA tournament. She reminisced on their FIFA World Cup 2026 performance together, but debunked rumors of a romance.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHe\u2019s very chill, so we were just vibing [during the performance],\u201d Tyla said. \u201cPeople were making it look like [something] between us. Calm down, I\u2019m a working woman!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOne of the episode\u2019s more thought-provoking moments came when the singer shared her perspective on artificial intelligence in music. While acknowledging the technology\u2019s growing presence, Tyla expressed hesitation about AI-generated artists.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHonestly, I feel like it\u2019s just going to make real music more valuable,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n

\n\tBlackwell then pivots the conversation toward Tyla\u2019s birthday celebration earlier this year, specifically referencing the online video of American rapper Trim gifting her a Chanel bag. When asked if Tyla would ever make a song with the fellow female musician, Tyla simply brought her finger to her lips with a smile.<\/p>\n
