\n\tThere\u2019s no treat if the trick doesn\u2019t work. Emma Bunton learned that adage the hard way on Tuesday night\u2019s (Aug. 4) America\u2019s Got Talent<\/em>. The Spice Girls\u2018 Baby Spice was a special guest adjudicator on the Judges\u2019 Callbacks episode of the show in which her bandmate, Mel \u201cScary Spice\u201d B, brought back a few of her favorite acts for private command performances to see if they had what it takes to make it to the season 21 live shows.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe newly added twist to the show\u2019s format \u2014\u00a0a second Callbacks round will air on Aug. 11 \u2014\u00a0finds the selected performers pleading their case one more time before judges Mel B, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and Simon Cowell, with Tuesday\u2019s episode focused on the contestants traveling to Mel B\u2019s childhood home town of Leeds, England as well as Cowell\u2019s cliffside home in Malibu, Calif.<\/p>\n

\n\tFirst up was magician Joel M, who pulled the classic \u201ccan I have a piece of jewelry?\u201d bit on the Spices, asking Bunton to hand over a ring after promising Mel that he would not ask her to give up any baubles for his trick. He didn\u2019t, however, ask Bunton the same, so she cried out in fake outrage as she handed over a chunky gold ring, which he promptly tossed into a plastic bag full of other golden rings.<\/p>\n

\n\tHe dumped all the rings into a giant haystack \u2014\u00a0get it? \u2014\u00a0and asked both women to scroll around on the AGT<\/em> site and pick one word they see, with Bunton choosing \u201cwalnut\u201d and Mel settling on \u201caudition.\u201d After asking Bunton to pick a lemon from a bowl stacked with them, the magician began cutting it open and, to their surprise, pulled out a walnut. Bunton seemed displeased that it didn\u2019t immediately reproduce her ring, but instead coughed up one of Mel\u2019s chicken eggs.<\/p>\n

\n\tReminding Mel that she\u2019d picked the word \u201caudition,\u201d he showed the singer that it was carved into the egg\u2019s shell, quickly smashing it to reveal, yes, of course, a walnut. Still no ring, though. \u201cWhat\u2019s inside?\u201d Bunton wondered, adding \u201cit can\u2019t be my ring!,\u201d as both women recalled that he\u2019d thrown the jewelry on the haystack behind him.<\/p>\n

\n\tCracking the walnut, Joel then, naturally, produced the ring to Bunton\u2019s shock and amazement. \u201cYou are joking me!,\u201d she said, gobsmacked.<\/p>\n

AGT<\/em> airs on NBC on Tuesday nights and streams the next day on Peacock.<\/p>\n
