\n\t\u201cThis year\u2019s show open welcomes Sunday Night Football<\/em> into my ongoing rock star fever dream,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s one of my most favorite opens yet!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\tLongtime creative director Tripp Dixon said that his team specifically drew \u201cinspiration from [Underwood]s] deep, well-documented love of rock music\u201d for the 2026 revamp. \u201cWe\u2019ve worked to match these two rock frequencies of past and present as they come together in Carrie\u2019s high-energy performance,\u201d he said in a statement. \u201cThe greatest players and teams in the NFL will take it from there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe American Idol <\/em>alum first became the musical face of Sunday Night Football <\/em>in 2013, a station she\u2019s held ever since. Pink was the first to sing \u201cWaiting All Day for Sunday Night\u201d in 2006, after which Faith Hill took the baton from 2007 to 2012.<\/p>\n\n\tAfter wrapping up her second season as a judge on Idol <\/em>in May, Underwood has kept busy with a string of live performances this summer. In late August, she\u2019ll play two back-to-back shows at the Grande Ole Opry in Nashville.<\/p>\n\n\tThe Grammy winner last dropped an album in 2022, with Denim & Rhinestones<\/em> debuting at No. 10 on the Billboard 200.
