has asserted that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/emma-raducanu\">Emma Raducanu<\/a> \u201cmust be absolutely driven mad\u201d by her ongoing struggles to stay healthy.<\/p>\n<p>Raducanu has been sidelined due to a stress fracture in her right leg since losing to Donna Vekic in the Queen\u2019s Club Championships final in June.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old pulled out of Wimbledon on the eve of the tournament before making the early decision to withdraw from the WTA 1000 events in Toronto and Cincinnati.<\/p>\n<p>It has since emerged that Raducanu will not compete at the 2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/us-open\">US Open<\/a>, which will begin on Sunday 30 August.<\/p>\n<p>The 2021 US Open winner, who is currently ranked 49th, has played only 21 matches in the 2026 season and holds an 11-10 record.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ZHqUz2CR8B0&amp;t=4s\">Off Court With Greg Rusedski<\/a> podcast, Rusedski discussed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis365.com\/tag\/emma-raducanu\">Raducanu<\/a>\u2018s situation at length.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI remember Andy Roddick questioning when she said this year, \u2018I wanna play less. I don\u2019t want to play more\u2019. And Roddick\u2019s like\u2026 you\u2019ve gotta play more. And this is from a former world No 1 who sees the game exceptionally well,\u201d said the 1997 US Open finalist.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI kind of agree with him. You\u2019ve gotta be able to sustain and play and build and have that continuity. It\u2019s been stop, start, stop, start. So you\u2019re like, okay, there should be at least another five years till you\u2019re 30. So I think if she can solve that problem and find a way, who knows, but you\u2019ve got to have that insatiable desire to want to.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou need to find people to help you from a medical point of view, from a nutrition point of view, to try to get the balance. But maybe some people\u2019s bodies just can\u2019t take it on. I actually don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I\u2019m frustrated talking about it, I\u2019d hate to see what she\u2019s like. She must be absolutely driven mad by the whole situation because she would have had these expectations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe would say, \u2018I\u2019ve won the US Open five years ago. Okay, I\u2019m gonna get in the top ten,\u2019 which she did very briefly. \u2018I\u2019m going to start winning tour titles at lower levels and build myself up.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd that was the philosophy when she was with Mark Petchey. Mark was like, \u2018let\u2019s forget about the US Open, let\u2019s try to build up\u2019. That relationship lasted a little bit of time, but he also does all his TV punditry, so he couldn\u2019t be there full time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen [Andrew Richardson] gets back in, which I\u2019m like, \u2018okay, great. The guy she won the US Open with.\u2019 And then this injury happened after she made the Queen\u2019s finals. It\u2019s just one thing after another.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former world No 4 continued: \u201cI don\u2019t know what the solution is. I need to be behind the scenes to really know.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJane O\u2019Donoghue, who is a great coach and helps run everything in there, so there are good people involved. They will be all trying to find a solution. Let\u2019s do this, that, and the other.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just don\u2019t know what the answer is, but I keep on saying the same thing about Jack Draper; I just want to see her healthy, being able to play a full schedule.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re an athlete, your health is your wealth.
