In a message shared on social media, the Slovenian star showed heavy bruising to his legs and hip.<\/p>\n
\u201cGot hit by a car a few days ago,\u201d Rogli\u010d wrote. \u201cI won\u2019t be participating in San Sebastian and in Burgos unfortunately \u2026 not the best scenario, but it\u2019s life, eh.\u201d<\/p>\n
There were no immediate details about what happened and his Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe team did not have additional information.<\/p>\n
Rogli\u010d did not reveal if he was seriously injured, but instead turned his attention on returning in time for the Vuelta, the race he has won a record four times.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow it\u2019s all systems go towards La Vuelta, we work and hope things will turn around,\u201d Rogli\u010d wrote.<\/p>\n
The timing is another blow for the 36-year-old, who\u2019s endured more than his share of crashes and bad luck throughout his career.<\/p>\n
Rogli\u010d did not race this year\u2019s Tour de France and was preparing for a run at the Spanish grand tour and a possible face-off against compatriot Tadej Poga\u010dar.<\/p>\n
Missing the Cl\u00e1sica San Sebasti\u00e1n and the Vuelta a Burgos means Rogli\u010d will lose two key opportunities to sharpen his form ahead of the 2026 Vuelta, which begins August 22 in Monaco.<\/p>\n
The setback comes amid growing speculation that Poga\u010dar could race the Vuelta for the first time since his 2019 Vuelta debut. That year, Rogli\u010d claimed the overall, but Poga\u010dar won three stages and finished third overall.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
