opened with \u2018Crossfire\u2019,\u00a0from his 2010 debut album \u2018Flamingo\u2019, before performing recent singles \u2018Paradise\u2019 and \u2018Plans\u2019 live for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>Flowers later debuted the previously unheard \u2018Tiger\u2019s Blood\u2019,\u00a0while also revisiting \u2018The Desired Effect\u2019 tracks \u2018Still Want You\u2019 and \u2018Diggin\u2019 Up\u00a0The\u00a0Heart\u2019 for the first time since 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The set included\u00a0stripped-back\u00a0renditions of Killers classics \u2018Read My Mind\u2019 and \u2018When cover of Jim Croce\u2019s 1972 song \u2018Time In A Bottle\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Introducing him as \u201cMr. Killers himself\u201d,\u00a0Dacus welcomed Flowers to the stage for the song, which she recorded for the expanded edition of her fourth album \u2018Forever Is\u00a0A\u00a0Feeling\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Following the performance, she told the crowd: \u201cY\u2019all are going to have to pinch of\u00a0John Prine\u2019s \u2018Paradise\u2019 and The Band\u2019s \u2018The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Thrasher\u2019 will be released on August 21 via Island Records, marking Flowers\u2019 first solo album since 2015\u2019s \u2018The Desired Effect\u2019. The Nashville-recorded project draws on his childhood in Nephi, Utah, and the country music his father played during drives through the surrounding countryside.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs I\u2019ve gotten older, I\u2019ve found my way back to my father\u2019s music \u2013 \u2018Country-Western\u2019,\u00a0as he called it \u2013 and discovered that the stories I carry really feel most at home in the skin of this beautiful American tradition,\u201d Flowers said when announcing the record.<\/p>\n<p>Flowers will support the album with a tour of North America, the UK and Ireland later this year, including a show at London\u2019s Royal Albert Hall in October. Flowers previously described the two projects as contrasting \u201cSouth West records\u201d, with one taking a romantic approach and the other continuing the narrative songwriting heard on \u2018Pressure Machine\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>As for The Killers,\u00a0Flowers has predicted that the band\u2019s eighth studio album will arrive in 2027.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy best guess is that in 2027 you will get the best Killers record,\u201d he said earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>Flowers previously told\u00a0<i>NME<\/i>\u00a0that the record would feature all four members of the group and would not return to the synth-driven sound of standalone singles \u2018Boy\u2019 and \u2018Your Side\u00a0Of\u00a0Town\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will not put it out unless it is the best,\u201d he said. \u201cWe\u2019ve already discussed it.
