A cropped blueberry bob. Baby-doll vocals, straight from the gut, over pulsating percussion. Releasing nine albums in just three years. The insatiable appetite for her hyperactive electro-pop just keeps on proliferating. So too does her fascination with sea life. Described by Office Magazine as the “Princess of Marine Electronica”, she names each lo-fi track after an underwater creature: “Long Sardine”, “Knifefish”, “Grey Mullet”, their sonic vertebrae mutating into glitching beats and tightly clipped guitar loops. In late 2024, her production eccentricities caught the attention of The Strokes’ frontman Julian Casablancas, landing her support slots in Los Angeles and New York. From there came a North American run with alt-pop duo Magdalena Bay this last year, taking her looper and guitar across the continent before returning for headline dates in LA, Toronto and New York, steadily building her own following in the process. There are always plenty more fish in the sea, we’re told, but Oxis’ ethereal electronica feels entirely singular.

What’s your earliest memory of music having an effect on you?
I saw a Lady Gaga show at 13 years old, and it really shook my world.
