The heavy metal pioneer died on July 22 2025, aged 76.<\/p>\n<p>The Prince Of Darkness\u2019 passing came just over two weeks after he played his final-ever live show at Birmingham\u2019s Villa Park \u2013 which included appearances from Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Lamb Of God, Tool, Mastodon, Alice In Chains, Guns N\u2019 Roses, Halestorm, Gojira and more \u2013 and it was later confirmed that his cause of death was a heart attack.<\/p>\n<p>To mark one year on, there was the first ever \u201cOzzy Day\u201d held in his Birmingham hometown last week, with fans showing up to pay their respects, a brass band performing Black Sabbath classics, the mechanical \u201cOzzy The Bull\u201d statue in New Street station being decorated with the singer\u2019s iconic glasses and more.<\/p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Black Sabbath - interview with Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ODq02WXMY3o?feature=oembed&amp;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<p>The singer\u2019s three Black Sabbath bandmates also paid tribute to the metal icon. Bassist Geezer Butler wrote on Instagram: \u201cOne year ago today- hard to believe. I am so glad we were able to do the final show, back in our hometown, just a couple of weeks before Ozzy left us. Gone in body, but his legend lives on. Such incredible memories. Ozzy forever!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Drummer Bill Ward took to X\/Twitter to share: \u201cEvery day, there is persistent silence. We miss you so much. Respectfully, with love to the Osbourne Family, Bill and Jackie Ward Family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Iommi shared a touching message on Instagram, saying that he \u201cstill can\u2019t believe that he\u2019s not with us\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI watch him on YouTube and it feels like he\u2019s still here with us. We always stayed in touch, almost every week or so and we\u2019d usually talk about our ailments and then about what we\u2019d been doing that particular week,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fans have been absolutely brilliant and the love and respect that they have shown for him has just been amazing. I\u2019m so glad that we were able to play one final show with the original line up of Sabbath at the \u2018Back To The Beginning\u2019 show in our home town of Birmingham,\u201d the guitarist continued. \u201cThere will never be another Ozzy. The heavy metal pioneer died on July 22 2025, aged 76.<\/p>\n<p>The Prince Of Darkness\u2019 passing came just over two weeks after he played his final-ever live show at Birmingham\u2019s Villa Park \u2013 which included appearances from Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Lamb Of God, Tool, Mastodon, Alice In Chains, Guns N\u2019 Roses, Halestorm, Gojira and more \u2013 and it was later confirmed that his cause of death was a heart attack.<\/p>\n<p>To mark one year on, there was the first ever \u201cOzzy Day\u201d held in his Birmingham hometown last week, with fans showing up to pay their respects, a brass band performing Black Sabbath classics, the mechanical \u201cOzzy The Bull\u201d statue in New Street station being decorated with the singer\u2019s iconic glasses and more.<\/p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Black Sabbath - interview with Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ODq02WXMY3o?feature=oembed&amp;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<p>The singer\u2019s three Black Sabbath bandmates also paid tribute to the metal icon. Bassist Geezer Butler wrote on Instagram: \u201cOne year ago today- hard to believe. I am so glad we were able to do the final show, back in our hometown, just a couple of weeks before Ozzy left us. Gone in body, but his legend lives on. Such incredible memories. Ozzy forever!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Drummer Bill Ward took to X\/Twitter to share: \u201cEvery day, there is persistent silence. We miss you so much. Respectfully, with love to the Osbourne Family, Bill and Jackie Ward Family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Iommi shared a touching message on Instagram, saying that he \u201cstill can\u2019t believe that he\u2019s not with us\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI watch him on YouTube and it feels like he\u2019s still here with us. We always stayed in touch, almost every week or so and we\u2019d usually talk about our ailments and then about what we\u2019d been doing that particular week,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fans have been absolutely brilliant and the love and respect that they have shown for him has just been amazing. I\u2019m so glad that we were able to play one final show with the original line up of Sabbath at the \u2018Back To The Beginning\u2019 show in our home town of Birmingham,\u201d the guitarist continued. \u201cThere will never be another Ozzy.
