set to arrive in spring 2027<\/a>. You&#8217;re not mistaken, that is about a year before the last day <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/sony-ending-playstation-discs-physical-media-january-2028\">Sony will be making physical PlayStation discs<\/a>, so the game should be okay, right? Well, not quite.<\/p>\n<p>Publisher <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/companies\/square-enix\">Square Enix<\/a> has apparently not made a decision whether to ship the game on disc or not, according to new information. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi, however, is pushing for it. The veteran director told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesradar.com\/games\/final-fantasy\/final-fantasy-7-revelation-director-wants-some-kind-of-physical-edition-for-the-rpg-but-he-cant-promise-it-as-sony-becomes-the-latest-to-shift-away-toward-digital\/\">GamesRadar+<\/a> at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/games\/final-fantasy-xiv-a-realm-reborn\">Final Fantasy 14<\/a> Fan Festival in Berlin that he can&#8217;t confirm anything on that at the moment.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re still having internal discussions on what the exact SKU product lineup is going to be for Revelation,&#8221; said Hamaguchi. &#8220;So I can&#8217;t say anything particularly definitive at this point in time. Even before Sony&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/petition-against-sony-killing-playstation-physical-media\">nearly<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/sony-kills-game-ownership-and-says-its-all-your-fault\">universally<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/playstation-blackout-physical-media-august-protest\">disliked<\/a> decision to end PlayStation physical media, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/grand-theft-auto-6-preorders-gta6-no-disc\">Rockstar announced that GTA 6 won&#8217;t be shipping on a physical disc<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Assuming Final Fantasy 7 Revelation does ship in a proper physical version, can we expect each copy to include multiple discs? The two prior parts, Remake and Rebirth, both shipped on multiple discs so there&#8217;s certainly precedent.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Obviously, say, if you&#8217;re talking to Nintendo, there&#8217;s considerations about the storage limits on key cards and things like that, and then other platforms about how much you can put onto a disc,&#8221; Hamaguchi explained.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These are the discussions that we&#8217;re having at this point in time.
