He revealed at the time that a lot of the lyrics for his second solo album were written on baseballs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, writing on the baseballs is making me a better writer just by physically slowing the writing process down,\u201d he told <em>NME<\/em> in 2025. \u201cMy brain sits on a word just a hair longer when I have to write it on a baseball. My brain considers the word and goes, \u2018No, this is a better word. Don\u2019t go left, go backwards\u2019. When you\u2019re writing on a baseball, you have a minute to avoid the clich\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s like writing a novel with one finger. Maybe that\u2019s the way Hemingway wrote and why his sentences are so good? Because he just fucking thought about every word.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Aaron Dessner has also worked on a number of albums including Mumford &amp; Sons\u2018 \u2018Prizefighter\u2018, and Gracie Abrams\u2018 \u2018The Secret Of Us\u2019 and \u2018Daughter From Hell\u2018, Florence + The Machine\u2018s \u2018Everybody Scream\u2018 and Brandi Carlile\u2018s \u2018Returning To Myself\u2019 in Sebastian.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span>  <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-1\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Dubbed \u201cThe National And Friends\u201d, the event will be staged\u00a0at the Kursaal Donostia on October 18 and will include performances from the band alongside the likes Kevin Morby, Ben Howard, Jon Hopkins, Mina Tindle, Ragnar Kjartansson, Arcade Fire\u2018s Richard Reed Perry, Ana\u00efs Mitchell and many more.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets go on sale on released a new solo album \u2018Get Sunk\u2018. He revealed at the time that a lot of the lyrics for his second solo album were written on baseballs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor me, writing on the baseballs is making me a better writer just by physically slowing the writing process down,\u201d he told <em>NME<\/em> in 2025. \u201cMy brain sits on a word just a hair longer when I have to write it on a baseball. My brain considers the word and goes, \u2018No, this is a better word. Don\u2019t go left, go backwards\u2019. When you\u2019re writing on a baseball, you have a minute to avoid the clich\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s like writing a novel with one finger. Maybe that\u2019s the way Hemingway wrote and why his sentences are so good?
