He has been nominated for seven Academy Awards across his career, and won the Palme D\u2019Or at Cannes for his 1996 drama <em>Secrets &amp; Lies<\/em>. Films such as <em>Naked<\/em> (1993), <em>Vera Drake<\/em> (2004), and <em>Mr Turner<\/em> (2014) have been considered among the best British films of all time by many critics.<\/p>\n<div class=\"td-a-ad id_inline_ad0 id_ad_content-horiz-center\"><span class=\"td-adspot-title\">Advertisement<\/span><\/div>\n<p>His new film, <em>Tender Loving Care<\/em>, is a movie that the film\u2019s production company describes as an \u201cinsightful exploration of the contemporary world\u201d.
