They also traded up to select rookie Cameron Carr and promoted Arthur Kaluma to a two-way contract after a strong summer league performance.<\/p>\n<p>This fall will be the first time since 2017 the Lakers will open a season without LeBron James, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/7417464\/2026\/07\/24\/lebron-james-contract-76ers-free-agency\/\">signed with the Philadelphia 76ers<\/a> as an unrestricted free agent last week.
