\n\tIn a video from the event by New York photographer Howard Weiss, ODB\u2019s eldest brother, Ramsey Jones, said, \u201cI am very honored to be here because my grandmother\u2019s house is on this block on Putnam Avenue, right next to where the mural is.\u201d The latter was in reference to a nearby painting recreating the iconic cover of ODB\u2019s 1995 debut solo album, Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version<\/em>, which featured a replica of a NYC public assistance ID card. Jones was there with the siblings\u2019 mother, Cherry Jones, to commemorate the street naming, adding, \u201cI\u2019m so honored, my mother\u2019s honored. Thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tIn Weiss\u2019 video fans paid homage in various ways, from pouring out a little liquor from a 40 oz. bottle to showing off their \u201cProtect Ya Neck\u201d an Wu-Tang swag, pulling up in their low riders and buying merch commemorating the special day.<\/p>\n \n\tThe Wu also paid homage in an Instagram post over the weekend which featured a throwback pic of ODB posted up under the original sign marking the corner of Putnam and Franklin avenues. \u201cOl\u2019 Dirty Bastard. Unique Ason. Big Baby Jesus. Call him whatever you want \u2014 Bed-Stuy is calling it ODB Jones Way,\u201d they wrote. \u201cWe heard you. We\u2019ll keep it raw.
