Now we know it&#8217;s right around the corner, and the Evercold expansion has received a big teaser trailer, too.<\/p>\n<p>During the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=C0L5kqKlGcQ\">Fan Festival 2026 in Berlin<\/a>, a five-minute &#8216;extended teaser trailer&#8217; that sets the stage for the MMORPG&#8217;s next chapter &#8211; the start of the Godless Realms Saga story arc &#8211; was shown alongside plenty of fresh details. As a reminder, the ambitious port will require a separate monthly sub from the other versions of the game even if you&#8217;re using the same account, but it won&#8217;t require the usual Nintendo Switch Online membership that online games typically ask for. Those willing to pay two different <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurogamer.net\/games\/final-fantasy-xiv-a-realm-reborn\">FF14<\/a> subs will get a 50 percent discount on the Switch 2 one, though.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"injection_placeholder\" data-position=\"1\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The better news is that FF14 on Switch 2 will also have the popular free trial &#8211; which includes quite a bit of content &#8211; in order to entice players who are on the fence. That said, anyone who&#8217;s looking to jump into the MMO on Nintendo&#8217;s hybrid console will need to liberate &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nintendo.com\/us\/store\/products\/final-fantasy-xiv-online-switch-2\/\">according to the US eShop<\/a> &#8211; 117.2 GB at launch.
