<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-article-2\" class=\"lazy-ad\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The footage quickly went viral, leading the artists to announce\u00a0two full concerts devoted to The Smiths\u2019 catalogue in London and Manchester.<\/p>\n<p>Reviewing the first show,\u00a0<i>NME<\/i> described it as \u201cthe best Smiths gig since December 12, 1986, when Morrissey and Marr last took the stage together\u201d, and praised Astley as \u201ca fine substitute for Morrissey\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The review concluded: \u201cThere are only two people on the planet that could do this better, but until they patch things up, Blossoms, Rick Astley, and a couple of thousand loving fans, all singing in unison, is today the most perfect version of The Smiths you could possibly ask I know\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0sacrilege and they should hang the lot of us on the line for doing it, but I also just\u00a0don\u2019t\u00a0care.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Songs From The Wedding Cake\u2019 is set for release on October 2 via ODD SK \/ Distiller Records and was produced by Shawn Lee.<\/p>\n<p>Blossoms recently celebrated the album announcement\u00a0with a surprise pop-up performance from the back of a van outside Manchester\u2019s 42nd Street Nightclub.<\/p>\n<p>The band will support the album with their biggest headline tour to date later this year. The UK arena run begins at Cardiff\u2019s Utilita Arena on November 26\u00a0and also\u00a0includes London, Manchester,\u00a0Birmingham\u00a0and Glasgow, with\u00a0The Royston Club\u00a0supporting catalogue in London and Manchester.<\/p>\n<p>Reviewing the first show,\u00a0<i>NME<\/i> described it as \u201cthe best Smiths gig since December 12, 1986, when Morrissey and Marr last took the stage together\u201d, and praised Astley as \u201ca fine substitute for Morrissey\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The review concluded: \u201cThere are only two people on the planet that could do this better, but until they patch things up, Blossoms, Rick Astley, and a couple of thousand loving fans, all singing in unison, is today the most perfect version of The Smiths you could possibly ask
