Rubio did not have time to react and smashed into the rear window of the team car.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-placeholder-wrapper relative w-full border-t border-b border-border-light col-span-full my-3 md:col-span-10 md:col-start-2\">\n<div class=\"mb-[30px] min-h-[30px] text-center\"><span class=\"font-utility-4 font-medium tracking-[1px] text-neutral-500 uppercase\">ADVERTISEMENT<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-placeholder -mt-[30px] mb-[30px] flex min-h-[250px] w-full items-center justify-center\">\n<div class=\"w-full \">\n<div id=\"in-content-leaderboard-in-content-leaderboard-I0-P0-CMI0\" class=\"flex justify-center text-left\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Spanish media reported he is being transported to a hospital in Grenoble for further checkups after receiving medical attention on the scene for a series of deep cuts and gashes to his face.<\/p>\n<p>In the daily medical report, Tour officials confirmed that Rubio suffered \u201ctraumatisme facial\/facial injury\u201d and was checked out at the race\u2019s mobile X-ray facility.<\/p>\n<h2>Haller injures knee after striking traffic sign<\/h2>\n<p>In an earlier incident in the stage, Marco Haller (Tudor Pro Cycling) crashed into a padded traffic sign and suffered injury to his right knee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe traffic sign came as a complete surprise to me. There was obviously a bottleneck in the road, and everything got really tight. The sign appeared very suddenly, and unfortunately, I hit it,\u201d Haller said. \u201cI was super lucky that I ended up in the protective mattresses. Really lucky.
